Moaning there is no news and suspecting news may be on the way are not the same thing ….. I’ve had a relatively large wager with someone on this board that the share price will be above a certain level by October…… I also suspect there is big news on the way ( of a corporate nature) but am happy to wait until it arrives ….. unlike some I also accept I could be wrong
Regarding news, I'm sure I remember for most of the first half of last year everyone was desperately asking for news, then in the second half we had frequent news releases as part of "shock and ore" and because the SP didn't rocket to the moon everyone was saying the company had overdone it, the constant news releases were just hype from Mather trying to save his skin at the AGM etc. Everyone was demanding a calmer, more professional approach. So at the start of this year Solg clearly stated that they would be releasing news less frequently from now on, not hole by hole, and would consolidate things into wider updates (of which we have had 4 already in 2021). Yet now people are moaning that there isn't enough news and news is being "suppressed"? Come on.
15,000 seems to be a regular number trading wise recently…… no significance just an observation whilst we wait
Oh look I see a green poster above me ,I can take one guess( Zero!:) And ooh I bet it's yet another abusive message towards me ,well one thing for sure seeing genuine lths posting and getting abuse does not deter me continuing to hold my shares in solg gla
Totally agree Copper, but then it is the modern disease what with social media etc etc allowing people to post all manner of nonsense they would never say in a real life scenario... like I've said before come back on Jan 1st 2022 and I'm sure you will find a pleasant surprise without the need to read all this machismo posting !!
Hi the Italian......spot on! I always think of th famous John Lennon quote " life is what happens to you while you're busy making plans" Some folks have missed out on soooooo much life, just sat here "day in, day out" waiting for something to happen! Just drop in once or twice a week briefly to have a catch up! Nothing, has changed here for months and months and won't for many more months. Get out and enjoy your very existence!

Morning TheItalian, nice to hear from you yesterday , patience still prevails still my friend
Greetings to all Solgers.
Many of you are still arguing about this or that scenario, one timeline or another, when we have miserably failed for years to see what ended up coming.
Lets just chill, this will eventually come home but likely at a time and in a way that is not what we discuss.

Thats just Cascabel...
And its not just lockdowns...
Finally that post is dated 13 June...
'The Independent'23 July
"The Lambda variant was first detected in Peru last summer, and spread fast there, now accounting for the vast majority of the country’s new Covid cases. Chile, Argentina and Ecuador also saw significant numbers of infections..."
From Ecuadaz, 13th june:
"...Morning all
Just reviewed last few days posts and would like to put all straight re lockdown in Ecuador.
Ecuador IS NOT in lockdown and has not been for several weeks, by that fact it will not be one of the last countries to come out of lockdown. True there are restrictions at borders, and some provinces may have restrictions, but I can say clearly for the province I live in which is Imbabura ( home of Cascabel ) there are no restrictions at all,and touch wood that will continue..."

From the May 21 MD&A zoros...
"While COVID-19 continues as the dominant safety consideration..."
"As a result of the state policy and to ensure the protection of the communities we work with, the Company has established specific COVID-19 protocols to ensure compliance with government preventative measures. Quarantine prior to entry into project areas is a mandatory requirement for all personnel to minimize the risk of infection, involving a 10-day premobilisation isolation period. Anyone entering field operations must quarantine for 7 days and test negative for COVID-19 by means of a PCR test before entering the field."
"With the new strain of virus present in Ecuador and the determination by the national government to try to avoid hospitals being overwhelmed by serious cases...
The repeated prevention advice is to use masks, distance from others and avoid groups.
The company continues field operations in all locations in Ecuador and has not relaxed any of the stringent quarantine and PCR negative requirements created during 2020 for anyone entering field operations. In certain cases even more stringent protocols have been introduced as a result of increased COVID-19 cases.
"In Ecuador, a limited curfew has been re-implemented in selected provinces due to increased cases and saturated hospital capability to manage cases.
"The regional exploration program in Ecuador will continue reconnaissance field mapping, soil and rock chip sampling programs, and geophysics surveys, and continue drilling programs (as permits and COVID-19 protocols allow)
From the Half yearly report:
Blanca - "a break in operation over the Christmas period due to COVID-19 related delays in assay turnaround time..."
Rio Amarillo "Commencement of drilling initially planned for November 2020 was delayed due to permitting and COVID-19 related delays resulting in further expansion of camp facilities to accommodate for isolation requirements..."
BBG I won't respond to your inflammatory reply other than to point out that Keith was already in the Rio group via Palabora...ands I have owned shares in Kincora so I know how massively complex OT remains...
CFP is far from a simple process...raising $3 billion for a vrigin mining company...?
You're very defensive redknight. Slighly odd considering you're claiming to be a shareholder....
I disagree again.
1. Why don't you accept the professional opinion of an analyst or a major shareholder within our minority partner?
2. Reporting/News has been absolutely suppressed. News being released via a quarterly illustrates a company that is not too worried about the future, perhaps as it has already been determined.
3. Care and maintenance is a very good illustrating of having no CEO for 6 months, and several new independants manage the reins until 'news' arrives.
4. Drill plans seem to be getting pushed back re Blanca, Tandy, Aguinaga, Porvenir, Rio etc.
5. Keith joined OT post Rio T JV. The rest is history.... He acts as a great gatekeeper but that is it. Keith is great because his attention and specialty is all technical aspects of the mine. You would put Keith in the position of CEO of OT or Solgold if you didnt have to worry about future funding. Again, he is just holding the reins (and talking rubbish) whilst the bid is developed and released.
6. Dennis is likely to be a consultant. Again, illustrates a temporary role.
7. Lots of news about both companies being aligned. I suggest you refresh your memory at recent announcements.
8. A CFP is a pretty simple document to secure, considering the data we have developed, and the document is non-binding...
9. Sorry mate, but I don't believe you, nor trust a word you say.
Again, you're very defensive and you're either very close to the coal face sa you're taking my opinion very personally; or, you are remunerated to maintain a flat share price.
Redknight...take what bbg says with a pinch of salt. He is all over the place and makes it up if there is no news.
Small correction to your point 2.... Covid is not a major issue in Ecuador (ask ecuardaz).
Best
Z
Oh dear BBG...you're entitled to your opinion, but...
1 The information the analysts are privy to cannot be inside information with the exception of the Nomad; but it has been reproduced in their Brokers reports...bid by mid year was an opinion, as was "the biggest takeover story in the City" last November
2 News hasn't been suppressed; it has been reported whenever possible, but overriding that is the regulatory requirements of the MD&A...drilling news doesn't have to be reported until it is independently verified and material, otherwise it is at the company's discretion...COVID is still a massive factor in Ecuador, hence the delay in drilling Rio Amarillo for example
3 No we haven't...Tandayama...etc.
4 COVID...and if there was a bid approach there would be a requirement to RNS it...you'd be daft not to...
5 Absolute rubbish!
2004/8 MD Palabora Mining RIO subsidiary
2008/11 President & CEO Oyu Tolgui...prospectively the biggest copper mine in the world...
2011/13 Global Practice Leader Rio Tinto (T&I)...read all the projects on LinkedIn
6 DW Corporate Pty Ltd provides Company Secretarial services. We got Dennis himself...read this:
"Dennis has tackled many fund raising engagements in the last eighteen years. Debt advisory and equity capital markets assistance are Dennis' core areas of competence. Twenty one years international operational experience has provided extensive capital raising, funding and administrative management capability specifically for the resources industry. A pragmatic approach ensures focussed service. There’s no learning curve. Dennis knows the rules, the regulations and the most efficient way of getting it all done...."
Pretty useful working alongside Ingo on the CFD...?
7 Where does it say they are working together...? They're 'friends' again after NM royally p***ed them off...co-operating on Cascabel...
8 Preparing the CFP is an ongoing process; it is Ingo's primary focus; it cannot be completed before PFS and indeed is coterminous with the DFS...months ago he told me that there is a huge appetite to finance projects like Alpala on the East coast of America...
9 I'm in regular dialogue...he's working his nuts off, including three roadshows this year alone, including the one that was a precursor to the highly successful equity raise...
Any more gems of wisdom?
Don't forget liars, ******s and Bobo addickt...(thats me apparently...) ;-)
For once I agree with Qady...now there's a first...
3 weeks ago it was only the paperwork to be completed for the new CEO..."a strong candidate..."
Lo and behold, BBG provides a 9pt response to qualify earlier comment.
That's what i was after.
DBW - where are these insults you speak of?
Quady has been firm in his/her response to BBG, maybe overly so, but I'd hardly say there's a "tirade of insults".
That has been part of this problem where this board is concerned for a while. Quady refutes points made by the majority and he/she is immediately villified.
Quady could tone it dowm slightly by the way. Absolutely. But anyone making a comment like the one BBG did should really be qualifying it.
I believe the company isn't taking this hire lightly, particularly given everything that has gone on and the situation and circumstances we find ourselves in. They want to get the right person for the job, as anyone should expect. Anything else is pretty much wishful thinking without an RNS confirming we are under offer.
Correct Quady - that is my opinion.
Why?
1. Several analysts / individuals in high positions have outlined that a bid will arrive mid year. What information are they privy too...
2. News has been suppressed since NM moved from the CEO seat. I would call it almost a complete news blackout. Were favourable terms received and accepted on the proviso that NM was removed as CEO.
3. We have been operating as if we are on care and maintenance since NM removal.
4. Since November, drilling has been played down, and the drilling of new targets has been pushed back to Q3/4,. Why. Maybe its to buy time for lawyers and contracts and due diligence to be concluded...
5. Keith Marshall is a nice guy but not executive material. Very suspect for a major group to have him at the coal face.
6. A new company secretary has been introduced. Perhaps arranged to provide more independent reporting to 'shareholders or parties subject to exclusivity arrangements'. A brilliant question is whether they have been retained as a full employee or consultant. My guess is as a consultant, as they are only going to be around for the ownership transition phase. The new co sec provides independent services via DWCorporate however his linkedin page illustrates no update regarding his Solgold role.
7. Solgold and Cornerstone are now working together. Why. I'm guessing they must had been shown a nice price (subject to DD) in order for them to begin to work together....
8. Any talk of a Conditional Funding Package has evaporated. This was a process being organised last year. Why discuss is if it is not required.
9. There has been Zero contribution or updates from Ingo since November.... Has he done his job?
It does nothing of the sort BBG.
Grasping for those straws though, if it helps.
And I should add he'll say he's not going to post again...ever. Five minutes later...bingo!
DBW, this is how it'll go.
1. BHP will either buy the lot or take Alpala off our hands.
2. Someone will post something about Q's statements.
3. Q will respond by saying he never said it wouldn't happen.
3. Someone, probably RK, will collate 4,000 of Q's posts to show that's exactly what he said.
4. Q will say RK is taking everything out of context.
5. Someone else will post another 1000 of Q's comments to prove the point.
6. Q will accuse everyone of being thick, ignorant, ******, lacking emotional intelligence and much else beside.
All of this is an absolute given.
