There was a hot spot near Bradford at a meat packing factory - I understand 155 cases. This article suggests 25000 across the meat packing industry in Europe have had Covid.

I would be pretty surprised if a deal was done purely limited to one indication like COVID rather than for the rights as a whole. Although obviously not impossible.
So they could just buy the drug off synairgen only for Covid use? Surely better value to buy the company with other strings to its bow with future income. As you say either way we should be rewarded which ever way it goes. You wonder why more don’t get involved but guess it doesn’t meet their risk/reward criteria. To be honest if it wasn’t for this BB I’m not sure I would have come across it, especially not on HL as never features on their AIM list.
Thanks Rich. Happy to wait till towards end of year, as Ghia says may take some money out (if in profit!) and let the rest run. I can’t see many other good buys on the market at the moment so best to stick to what I know! Think I know more about synairgen than my own businesses!!
Having spent a fair bit of time in Leicester I would say it doesn’t surprise me the area is potentially going to get locked down. It is fairly synonymous with food packing and meat factories in the local. In laws lived in Stoneygate but we would notice lots of spitting going on amongst the community. Much more so than other places for some reason. This being a virus that can spread in saliva spray, coughing, sneezing etc it probably doesn’t help. Leicester did contribute quite heavily to SNG hospital trial so I’m assuming we are well placed to recruit from this unfortunate group of newly infected subject to them satisfying the recruitment criteria.
I doesn't feel like we will be getting the COPD data before the hospital results to me. I think that if we were he would have said so by now. I think that they have the results already and they will release them to the market when they deem it fit, which will be after the hospital results are out. I doubt that they have any obligation to publish them as they are only interim results and because of that they are not market sensitive as things could still go either way once the other 11 are recruited, so interim doesn't prove anything. Plus its not the priority, the Covid is.
Buy out of the drug itself for COVID use could be possible or a partnership deal. Either or the money from that will be plenty and once its taken place they would be fully funded to see the COPD trial roll out all the way to production.
All imo of course.
According to Prof Sir Jeremy Farrar on Andrew Marr this morning, from October onwards there will be huge Covid second wave problem if the Govt doesn't use July, and August to get the tracing system up and running and get the public confidence sorted plus get people to use the app en mass. He was very concerned also about people's reactions when normal winter coughs, colds and flu kick in. Will the public confuse Covid symptoms with something less serious and continue to go about their daily lives and continue to send their kids to school etc
Let's hope SNG001 will be available from all Doctors surgeries by then... Big ask but if you could get video conference with your doctor who could get a test kit to you at first signs followed by an inhaler should you test positive...now wouldn't that be good...
As an investor a takeover would obviously be the best, clean cut, route as you say.
However I think partnering is probably more likely. Instead of say hundreds of millions up front they commit a smaller amount in cash, and agree to do all the work getting the drug to market worldwide, with milestones, and a share of profit. As well as funding P3 trials in COPD (and any other indications they fancy) with a share of profits from that too.
That could easily be a billion dollar deal (but in staged milestones).
If we get competition from various companies that's dream situation (and bearing in mind the worldwide situation a realistic posibility).
CW25 - Yeah selfishly I’d prefer a takeover so I can hit my price target and exit nice and clean cut.
If it goes down the licensing route which is looking more likely I’ll have to adjust and cut some at a price and let the rest roll on.
I agree ghia, would possibly need to hold longer term tho to fulfil full SP potential. A buyout would take away those concerns. Anywhere around £5 would do us just well I expect! Listening to Richard tho I think the licence deal is most likely.
Ghia - agreed. Got to be on their radar as an inhaled combo.
I think they are also only interested in blocking hostile takeovers we are actively looking for some sort of deal.
If any major had to make a concession, it would probably be that they'd commit to supplying a certain amount to the UK first, and I'm sure they'd be happy to do that.
CW25 - No real relevance to us. Whether licenced, partnered, or taken over by a major pharma. The government would hardly be likely to block something like this being taken over since that's what would get the product to market fastest. I could only really see it if being contemplated if it was a Chinese takeover and the share price would be rocketing. China not being covered by the patent that would seem less likely anyway.
I’m coming around to the idea that Gillead might be a good fit as a partner.
License to Gillead for Covid
Self fund phase 3 COPD
Launch Trials on combination therapy inhaled IFN -beta + Inhaled Remdesivir in partnership with Gillead.
CW25 - the devil would be in the detail of the deal but a licence deal is likely to bring the highest value to share holders long term.
I also asked the question last night re what would a license deal do to our potential SP? How would the market value a licence deal?
They never really got the virus under control and then had the millions+ protestors. No law and order in USA right now. Trump has lost the plot. I guess our preferred route would be to the USA market. Any thoughts on the government stopping take overs of USA/UK pharmas? Will that effect us with potential negotiations or are we really just looking at a licence agreement if successful?
Yea there up poo creek . It takes around 2 weeks after the onset of symptons untill death for those unfortunate ones. ICU's will be filling up over the next 2 weeks by the looks of it and push them past recent alarming statistics. Reports some are allready full in places!
And America is continuing to show what not taking the virus seriously enough does to rates of infection:

All whilst in a seasonal low point for viruses....
With the news of a upturn in cases in the Leicester area, and the fact that the local hospital was involved in the SNG trial, would hope that we would have a good uptake for the Home trial - good opportunity to boost the patient figures
