I think the post asked whether another poster would open a position in SNG now if they had never held it. Personally I wouldn't, but then if I don't think it's worth having at this price, why am I still holding? This is the inconsistency I was trying to point out. Poly aren't in the same situation so what I was trying to say doesn't really apply to them.

Who says they aren't?"
Your reply I quoted was in reply to a sell and move on post, polygon don't appear to have sold, ergo you did?
I was tempted to buy more but will instead trade on the next rise if the technical analysis stars are right.
£1 to escape.
So, it now looks like we need The Covid Bill to pass through the US legislature in addition to good Activ-2 data, and as a precondition to getting on a sponsored trial?
If it does pass through the legislature, the NIH will have a lot of money to spend (including us) but if it doesn't pass...
Also, could this reluctance to release data be because of the blood works and corresponding genetic markers that can be identified in Activ-2?
If the results are positive, they could be commercialised and used to target relevant patients.

Who says they aren't? Judging by their most recent trades (that we know of) their view is clear and consistent. They are not only holding on to their expensive stock, they have added.
"I did put it in inverted commas FTC7!!"
Ha Fair enough!
FreeTheCaterham7 - "That would be the logical and professional approach."
I wonder why polygon aren't being "logical and professional"?
Another groundbreaking contribution from FTC.
I did put it in inverted commas FTC7!!
Like a man who has been promised £5 / a share no matter how low the buyout price ends up .
" the "upbeat" look of Richard Marsden"
Arrgh
I'm trying my best to be patient and take a longer-term view. Not easy, as we all desperately want to recoup some/all of our February losses sooner rather than later.
I trust the science - and the positive evidence for Interferon Beta continues to mount up, so that gives a lot of hope. As for Synairgen themselves? I have slightly less trust in them to be able to extract the maximum value/potential from the drug they have, but I'd still rather stick with it now rather than take a punt with something else. Hopefully the "upbeat" look of Richard Marsden in recent interviews was not just for show and there really are useful conversations going on "at haste", which will bear fruit at some point. I guess time will tell...
DYOR/GLA!!!
The Dum punter is back if he finds a big Red day of any share you will find the dum punter because he is twisted parasite like the orther mug on here that is greened binned
RM never said which "mid-summer" though. Is it our mid-summer? An Indian summer? Or the southern hemisphere mid-summer? Either way at least it should be warm, which is a bonus Lol.
I'd take 5 weeks time, but as stated yesterday's RNS could be anytime this summer.
That would be the logical and professional approach. However, for some reason I think I’ll hang on here.
Yes, 31-33 is stable
Rare i think a blue day tomorrow over done today
"The SP is where it is because of results."
True, but there does seem to be some evidence that a better directed and managed trial might have produced better results, and the design and execution of the trial is the responsibility of the company. RM is ultimately in charge of that.
"Would you buy in your total investment today from scratch? Doubt it."
Yes I'm always happy to point out investors' lack of logic but while I am holding on to my residual position in SNG in the hope that something will come of it, I don't think I would start buying a position now. That's an illogical stance to have.
No I definitely wouldn’t have invested as much as I did. I don’t really know what RM could have done though to salvage the SP. The SP is where it is because of results. Fair enough you have your opinion on him, I feel I’m probably in the minority wanting to give him a little more time. But fingers crossed going forward.
I'm sick of this lot now and will be selling up in the coming days. They're hopeless. SP will steadily drop now, probably back to 15-20p.

Regarding RM its not the results its how he's handled the last few months. I don't rate him, I'm being harsh but I'm aloud to be.
I’m down a lot, would I buy today? Yes. At these levels the upside if huge, the problem imo is how to commercialise this drug, but the science has to come first, and very slowly we seem to be getting there. For that reason it’s a big risk, but I find it hard to believe that Synairgen will never go higher on the SP than where it currently is, so yes I’ll hold, and yes I’d buy more.
Re RM… I would have loved to have seen how many people would be calling for his head on positive results. In my mind he has until 2023 year end to prove his worth to the company, otherwise his time is up. God it’s like a football manager, it’s a results business.
A few wondering why we're down this far. Let's look at it like this.. Knowing what we (the royal we) know, would you spend your hard earned cash on SNG shares? Me personally, having been in since September, I wouldn't. Right now I wish I'd never laid eyes on them. So how can we expect anyone else to? At this moment in time, it's too risky. They don't have anything real to offer. Sure you'll get the few taking a punt. Until we have something tangible (TV, To, jv, eua) to show new or indeed, old investors then this is where we're going to be.. Regardless of Active2 results.
And don't give Poly too much credit, sure I'm glad they're here but I honestly think they're just in (parden the expression) balls deep like the rest of us and wondering what to do do next.
GLA, see you in a month or whenever the next false dawn arises
PS, RM is not the man for the job. I personally wouldn't employ him. For anything. Full stop.
