Hi All, bought in Friday, Hopefully a wise decision both financially and more importantly health wise for those that need it now. Some great posts. All the very best.
I believe next week they will have sufficient data, unlike us, there are no days off, and they are operating across multiple sites now. Given the time sensitive nature red tape will be cut where possible but they must still ensure the safety of patients. I'm expecting an update by the end of the week, but if not, no problem.
It is going to be a interesting week here. I was frustrated Friday as we didn't seem to move freely, but those enormous delayed trades bodes well. It is clear someone, who is better equipped than any of us, is attempting to load up, on the sly. And there is only one reason that would be done.
Hope you all enjoy your weekends and stay safe.
That's all I'm after, a small whiff!
I can then sit back and watch this all play out and relax.
Absolutely. But there should be a balance. The doctor's mantra is to 'do no harm'. Once it is established the drug doesnt have any nasty side effects the benefit outweighs the risk and hopefully given the current situation they will open it up.
And of course its not just the UK, a small whiff of success and every country is going to want access.......
Those are the vagaries of the British Medical system. They are extremely slow moving and powerful much like the Civil Service. It all started after the Thalidomide problem that they became cautious beyond belief. There is an argument the pendulum swung too far the other way.
Yes I was thinking that myself.
How can they have a drug that could possibly save someone's life and just say "no, your not having it until we mull over the results a bit longer and do some more testing, unlucky your chances arnt good and you are potentially going to die, goodbye"
even if it only has the potential to work what's to lose?
People should have the choice wheather to take the risk or not.
I just don't understand it.
In the US they have right to try laws and the Pharmas usually have compassionate use/extended use policies where they allow access to drugs that are still in trials where there is no other treatment options left for the patient.
Interesting how this works here as I dont believe there is a UK equivalent.
In my opinion it would be highly unethical if it shows efficacy in this trial to wait for the trial to end whilst there are thousands dying!
A bit like the government ordering all those antibody tests prior to testing them....sng already as per rns put money aside for supplies and manufacturing
That's a very interesting point.... If it were looking positive a country could ask them for X level of production even before it passes. Then pull the plug if needed. But in the meantime production ramps up. There are hundreds of millions being thrown at this around the globe
The potential here is massive. If you take into account that it's looking good for COPD and Asthma, in fact this looks like it's going to work for almost all viruses then its going to be around for a very long time.
The potential here is off the chart from what I can see, which is why I have gone all in here.
And yes that's a Ramp..and yes, I'm allowed to ramp...!
Can't wait for Tuesday morning!
BOOM!
SNG's drug is direct to the problem in the lungs its technology is to kick start the body's own immune system early to fight the virus while also stopping it from replicating, I seriously cant see any other DRUGS doing any better for treatment, maybe a vaccine in a years time to stop you getting it but vaccines are still 50/50 on a individual just like the flu vaccines are so we would still need some sort of treatment drugs
No, but it echoes my thoughts on it.
Not sure where I read it but, it was said that SNG's trial if it looks like it is working then it will be immediately approved so they can get it out to the market, but the trial will still be ongoing and monitored, I would guess if the trials later came up not so good they could pull it from the market but this move shows that people behind SNG are very confident
Has any one else read this and could post a link if you can please
Miggy
Out government had the ncyt test on the doorstep. They tried to find a cheaper test for 2 months. Imo
It is my understanding that there is a Global network sharing
information on trials...so I do not think our Goverment will
be able to hold us back should our results be outstanding..
I fully expect an RNS to land on Tuesday morning.
It looks like we are approaching the point in trial were this would be relevant. Also, we have the general meeting planned for that day and I would like to think that they would give an update before that is held so they would then be able to talk freely about were we are currently at. Surely there would be little point holding a GM at this point in the trial when they could delay it by a couple of weeks without it having to much of an effect on things.
A lot of pressure to expedite at the moment though!. Also SNG is in contact with lots of health authorities and governments, not just our own. Should this drug show efficacy it will be in demand the world over. At that point I cannot see how our government with this drug on its doorstep, manufactured in this country, would not expedite it through.
MadChatter - wishful think, me thinks! The Government do everything SLOW, SLOW, SLOW.... They are followers, not innovators, unfortunately. And as an LTH here, it's both sad and frustrating. GLA
