Fruits ..yes, if it is possible to take a detached view of the pandemic, I have found it fascinating. The explosive rate at which the science around the virus, vaccines and possible therapeutic approaches to its treatment is mind blowing to an old codger like me.
Synairgen were right in the zone when the pandemic started and, taking account of the size of the company, have made remarkable progress since. People who complain about the âdelaysâ in the completion of SG018 just donât understand the enormity of the task and the years that such a study would normally take to complete; a delay of a very few weeks Is almost an irrelevance.
There is nothing that I have read about the nature of the virus, itâs mode of action, the importance of interferons and, more recently, the role of auto antibodies that makes me less than wholly convinced of of the argument that âit (i.e. SNG001) worksâ.
We have a lot to thank contributors and commentators - here and elsewhere - like WedME, pmjh, Casanova and even our old friend Dr Mary for.
We are approaching the end-game now. The next few weeks are going to be exciting â hopefully in a good way - not only for those of us invested in Synairgen but also for the patients who stand to benefit from a truly transformational therapeutic.
By the grace of God Brysoa, growing up in the 70's I remember many discussions around Thalidomide. I take it you were a Doctor? You must feel very at home here on this BB. My dad was a GP for 50 years, he would loved following the science behind these new vaccines and treatments. Glad in a way though that he was spared this Pandemic.
Bruce, please read my post again. I'm not saying that SNG001 is a pill. I said that it affects the viral response in the tissues that need it ie the lungs ie nubulised :)
Bruce
Itâs pretty clear, that lots of investors have just jumped on the bandwagon, without doing research.
Not necessarily this poster, but there are definite patterns emerging with various sea lions.
Proposal in Paris
Have you not been paying attention. Synairgen is administered by nebuliser not pills.
Oh, don't the press love a good pill as a solution!! As medically trained, it was always a given that pills don't really treat a virus, so I'm a little sceptical. The timeline also seems fast - what trial phase are they in, and what is the recorded success so far? The beauty of Synairgen's gift to the world is that is affects the viral response in the tissues that need it.
Yes thatâs us. Theyâve created a freeze dried version of sng001 in pill form
Oil âŚ. dodged that one too!
Fruits. I am old enough to remember Thalidomide. By the grace of God I never prescribed it.
Brysoa,
Molu. will get targeted use to start not widespread as there's clearly still questions to be answered on safety They are going to give to the vulnerable first, in care /nursing homes, Javid said. They'll "see if it works and order more if it does", according to him. Sounds unethical to me but then I'm not a minister.
I thought it was a bit of irresponsible journalism from a usually excellent Nick Robinson. Not a health journalist, though. The BBC health pros would not have touched that with z barge pole.

You obviously arenât invested here, so why are you trying to educate this board.
A pill, surely you can do better than that.
Molnupiravir - it was named but no mention of the potential teratogenicity of the drug or the consequent hurdles to faces getting approval here - or anywhere.
Everything has to go through rigorous testing and the best pill thus far as a 50% chance of curing you...
The steroid pill we heard about previously has been overused with some patients developing fungus in their lungs, I guess you get what you pay for!
If itâs a pill then obviously not us.

As you've highlighted it's a pill.......... so clearly not us !!
Did anyone hear the Today programme at c. 08:14 to 08:20 this morning?
Nick Robinson was interviewing people who had been admitted into Preston Hospital with Covid - he could only interview those well enough to speak, as the doctor stated, those are the ones who have received a vaccination, but they are still very ill. Those without vaccination were too ill to be interviewed.
But, NR then said there is hope - just a few down, work is being done to prevent people ever going into hospital (with Covid). A research team (along with teams at Manchester and Liverpool) is working on a single pill that can be used to combat the virus, and that it would be ready for use by January!
Is that us? It did not sound like it. We need to get a shimmy on, if not ...
