Manifesto,
Just to say, I have enough invested here to hope you’re right!
It will be a tragedy if the opportunity presented by SNG001 after many years hard work by the team at Synairgen is not fully realised.
Fingers crossed!
I'm with Manifesto. Big pharma already have trust issues, the value of being the one with the best treatment (assuming our early results are borne out, and I really think they will be) is transformational.
Pre-covid business logic doesn't apply.
Hi Wet
We will have to agree to disagree.....A product that can be used at home...
in a world wide pandemic......no medical supervision required.....I
think that is light years ahead of Regae Regae Sauce........LOL!
I think Richard is spoiled for choice.....seriously...... GL!
Manifesto,
You make some solid points regarding SNG001’s clinical advantages.
But, simplistically, it reminds me of an episode of Dragons Den - where an invention may appear to have an obvious technical advantage, but which struggles to represent a viable business case.
So....your belief that ‘You can be sure many pharmas want SNG001 in their portfolio.....’
Imho may be (oddly) incorrect. Increasingly, Pharma companies tend to specialise in limited therapy areas, which they then try and dominate.
It would indeed be excellent if a bidding war developed for rights to market SNG001, but I’d be surprised if more than 2or 3 see themselves as giving it a go. Perhaps that would actually be enough!
I have great confidence in and respect for Stephen Holgate to convince the medical community that inhaled beta interferons are the way to go. Whether he and Marsden can convince the government to provide some urgent endorsement within the necessary timeframe will Imho be the make-or-break, for patients, shareholders and the Company Itself.
Let’s hope that indeed ‘Their time has come’.
;-)
Wet... disagree ..I think we are in a position of great strength when in negotiation..
We are not just a Covid stock, COPD results were very good, and revealed SNG001
can be used with steroids....a very significant find...Then there is Asthma and
possibly ARDS for which there is no current treatment. Our treatment is
the only one proven to limit if not prevent long term lung damage from Covid 19...
It may well be that an effective vaccine will never be found....moreover there
is a lack of confidence in vaccines that are being developed so quickly...the
normal time frame is more than 4/5 years.....So that is a pretty unique
position we find ourselves in...You can be sure many pharmas want SNG001
in their portfolio.....The potential commercial value is many billions...
Not even mentioned our patents.......!!
GLA!
Imho there are currently no direct competitors to SNG001, either by route of administration (Inhaled) or by stage of disease progression (ie mild/ early).
Paradoxically, this is both good and bad.
Good, because if things go well, Synairgen will have a head start; bad, because they’re a (small) lone voice in a noisy marketplace.
In addition, the company will not be in a position of strength when negotiating a JV with Big Pharma. Certainly regarding funding a Phase III, or even organising distribution and marketing. Money talks. So In the absence of further conclusive clinical results, they should be cautious.
With regard to the sp, although likely imho, there is no proof that Lansdowne are completely exited - only that they aRe sub 5%. It may be that they’re presently dripping any remaining shares into the market at, say >170p.
Finally, on any visible evidence, about 147m shares are just sitting untraded on a daily basis, waiting for what we hope will be groundbreaking news from the company.
That’s not to say that a name change to ‘Oxford Synairgen’ might not get a more improved reception amongst the government’s Old Boys.
;-)
Yes it seems as though RM is being mugged off by BJ. Maybe they should have a straightener?!
Gov scientists disappointing why are the so reticent with Synairgen .Surely if they if they are concerned about commercial sensitivity and clinical trials etc they could at least mention “ interferons “ by name only as a possible treatment to be investigated .We all know lives are being saved with interferons in India ,Iran , Cuba and China .Yet they bang on about lesser treatments Dexi and Remdem as game changers Matt H even dismissed Vit D as a possible treatment yesterday in Parliament yet there is evidence that Vit D is important in beta interferon production in vivo in older people .What precipitated to write is that Bristol Uni has made a fantastic discovery of a potential pathway to creating an antiviral “a game changer “ it may be but the game changer already exists albeit our out of focus minnow .Bo jo survived this dreadful disease hope they are not going deny others a successful treatment available NOW and wait and champion the Oxford vaccine for his elite
