Enrico. Always a delight reading your posts.

Not much Synairgen/SNG001 chat going on then, as per.
One last observation of a political nature: I don't know why the majority of people in this country think that they have to vote Tory or Labour as if no other choices were available. This is not the US! Although sometimes I wonder: these days even the UK government is referred to as "administration"...
Look at Germany: the seemingly unbreakable hegemony of CDU/CSU and SPD is suddenly under threat - the Greens and the far-right might suddenly get as much weight as the "main" parties. The world evolves and change happens; it will happen even in countries that still believe in queens, princes, lords and knights! (I know, it's difficult to believe that such countries still exist in the 21st century, and not just in the Middle East.)
Sparky,
Sorry, missed your question. I voted for the Greens. Green is better than greed. Yes, it means more tax to pay etc. But life isn't about amassing wealth, is it? I prefer seeing my money go to good use, help those who need it and build a better future for our children (and I mean _our_ children, not just mine) than lining the pockets of a few Etonians and their pub landlords who don't need money in the first place. Perhaps that's naïve but there you go.
I accept other people's political choices but it annoys me when someone votes an idiot in and is then surprised that the idiot does selfish, idiotic things. Especially when said idiot had already shown his selfishness and stupidity in his previous jobs! Hence an occasional rant.

Woodstock,
Highly unlikely. Even if he's a Southampton guy, he's married to a billionaire's daughter and so he doesn't really give a f**k about little people.
I think the NHS app should be abolished because it's quite obvious that it's not fit for purpose. The majority of the population have had the vaccine. We need to start living with this virus.
Our GGP is at 99% and inflation is nearer 4%. Anyone with an education in economics will see a very worrying future our country and its people.
Perhaps Rishi Sunak would do a better job. He is a Southampton lad and went to Winchester College.
Best to avoid politics on these boards.
There was no one else. They handed him the chalice. He has walked a middle ground. Really a no win situation.
Boris is a loony.
Y who did you vote for
Apologies, I meant GKB.
KGB,
The Tories are the establishment. Boris has shafted the entire country, especially those who (stupidly) voted for him.
All very trendy and woke to knock the Beeb but I can't think of anyone who does it better.
Not for this forum really I know.
Hugh pym Oxford university, pity the bbc team never went to Southampton
Just had a re-read of last July's BBC breaking news about SNG001 , reported by BBC Chief Environment correspondent Justin Rowlatt.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53467022
What an optimistic piece that was - with quotes such as :
Mr Marsden said the company will be presenting its findings to medical regulators around the world in the next couple of days to see what further information they require in order to approve the treatment.
That process could take months, although the British government, like many others, has said it will work as fast as possible to get promising coronavirus treatments approved.
It is possible it could be given emergency approval, as the anti-viral drug remdesivir was in May.
I just wonder why it was given to the Environment correspondent to write the piece . His specialty seems to be Climate change and disasters .
Such a ground breaking piece surely should have been given to a Health Correspondent . There's enough of them at the BBC . Hugh Pym , Fergus Walsh , Nick Triggle , Sophie Hutchinson , Catherine Burns, Laura Foster , Anna Collinson.
Maybe they were all busy that day ?
