Wish. I think you’re looking for issues that don’t exist... this is still st embryonic phase..no massive trading going on..no big day trading.. just buy, hold simple.. value will out soon enough
that's not the reason.
In the past, I have found it difficult to trade large numbers of shares electronically, so I suppose you would have to use a broker, which I don't use, so maybe that's one reason that retail investors avoid low value shares.
London Stock Exchange, normal market size (NMS) for each security is calculated quarterly and is based on 2.5 per cent of the security's average daily turnover in the preceding year. Market makers are often prepared to quote firm prices for volumes larger than the NMS but must quote prices for volumes of at least NMS.
No I have no idea. Hence why I asked you! You are right in that they must happen for a reason.
I've obviously got it wrong then. Perhaps you could explain why consolidations take place.
Are you sure? Why would it make a difference. The normal market size is more based on % of mcap isnt it?
The actual number of shares shouldn't make a difference?
Perhaps illiquid is the wrong term, but it's easier to sell 500,000 @ 37p than 10,000,000 @1.8p.
We really don't need a share consolidation. The company is in year 1 of rapid expansion...II's will come on board in good time..get the mcap to £50M plus first
Wish - if this share is illiquid how would a share consolidation make any difference? Surely just even less shares but at a higher price.
My thoughts are that the sp will not rise substantionally at the moment, because I don't think that the big institutions will risk buying a share with such a small value with an election on the way. It has to be said that the liquidity of this share in a fire sale would not be good. However if there was a consolidation of say 20 to 1 making the share price somewhere around 37p, I think that that would be more attractive to investors in general. Personally I hope that the sp climbs to 37p on its own merit. That would give all of us investors a nice few bob, and a bit of a headache for the MMs.
although i wont deny it would be nice to have a slow sustained rise.
Which to be fair, we are getting.
Agreed
Anyone bothered about the sp has to understand this is not a 100% on news type share. The real sp growth is now linked to contracts and revenues..this will come from early next year. All these new products are fantastic news but will need to be monetised, which they will be, but not overnight. Load up now as much as you can as an early adopter, and watch the value grow over the next 2/3 years....10x 15x 20x from here....it will take a bit of time but will be worth it....
