LOL
buyers swooping in tranches, there were 3 buys on Friday, the biggest £905, should have gone to Specsavers
The spread is large because as is being now proved frequently, buyers are swooping in regularly buying up quite large tranches of shares. So marketmakers are getting primed to increase the price materially. We’ve already had someone or perhaps multiple parties buy up three lots of 4m shares in the last fortnight (=3% of the shares) plus various 100,000 and 250,000 share purchases. The buy price from a couple of weeks ago has risen from 3.1p to 3.5p and I would guess we will soon be testing the 4p and perhaps higher levels soon.
No problem, we got what you meant. It's, in my opinion, because of the lack of public float. You can tell by the amount of trades that's nothing to do with demand LOL There ain't any.
It does mean the price could move up quickly if there was, but then you might face the other problem...a lack of buyers when you try to sell and that spread extending and clobbering your profits.
As I've said before, that have have to keep 25% of it floating, bit why they bother to stay on the public market is beyond me, unless they think taking it off would make it impossible to get back on. Saying that it must a pretty penny, maybe £50k a year? That's not a lot, unless your unprofitable and carrying heavy debt that's not going down at any great speed. It's not like it's a growth business in a growth sector, so I suspect a bit disinterested in it for the next few years, Except fr Pearls, who obviously want out LOL
I think you are right the "Spread" (apologies-typo above) is being used as a deterrent and it would appear: A very successful one!

- this isn't so bad for SGI, I can remember it being over 20% lots of time. Buy it and n paper you've already kissed the better part of 20% away. That and "Greeter's" comments about liquidity, then it a tough trade. I guess that's why there little interest.
The spread is Huge on here which could mean that there is anticipation of Huge movement.! IMHO
