Enough to do a share buyback and pay a dividend,
They have stated that they expect cash to increase in this year and beyond. I expect further dividend payments.
Deltalo. I have to ask.......What have they done well?
No seriously you can sell on 26th Look at my previous posts. The RNS is ambiguous, you can actually sell on 26th and get divi. You will see the price drop on 26th
The company is doing very well, share buy backs and dividend payments is always a very good sign,
Buy and hold, get your dividend and enjoy future increases in share price and dividend payments.
Atb
I am not bothered. lol. people will sell anyway. it was just an opinion. but you go and sell.
Nice try :)
Wimie you can sell on 26th and get divi.
There is a fair chance ed will turn this around now and he has reasons to do it. and the shares are cheap and very low market cap. right when you sell it could all turn around. that is how this market works. if the share price triple in the next 12 months or so and as matt says more special dividends dished out but only for shareholders that hold from here how would you feel. of course if you need the money fair enough. but my opinion i would think about it. nothing worse being an ex shareholder and watching your stock go up paying out dividends along the way. but each to there own and everyone is different. good luck whatever you choose.
After a review of the Company’s future funding needs for clinical development of its adenosine antagonist platform as well as the current capital raising market for the Company, the Board of Directors has made the decision to pause further enrollment in the ADPORT-601 clinical trial of PORT-6 (adenosine 2A inhibitor) and PORT-7 (adenosine 2B inhibitor). The Company will explore strategic alternatives, which may include finding a partner for one or more of its assets, a potential sale of one or more of its assets, a sale of the Company, a merger, restructurings, both in and out of court, company wind down or other strategic action.
There can be no assurance that the evaluation of strategic alternatives will result in any agreements or transactions, or that, if completed, any agreements or transactions will be successful or on attractive terms. If the Company is unable to complete a transaction, it may be required to seek a restructuring or company wind down. There is no set timetable for this evaluation and Portage does not intend to disclose developments with respect to this evaluation unless and until it determines that further disclosure is appropriate or legally required.
I am a LTH, just want to get out now i have the chance. Ed is useless
Mat. if another special dividend the next one will be likely shareholders on the register on that day the news come out. so only holders will benefit. this is just given a chance for the old crew that sold to get back in and some new lads who are lucky to find out about it and get some money in before cut off date. but it is a buy and hold now all the way and pick up that cash on the 13th may in my opinion.
Chances are there will be more dividends in the future.
Wimie. your post is what will wind up long term holders on here. so no one will give you advice as your probalby not going to hold more than 5 minutes after ex dividend. infact the dates may be there to catch people out. sell at the wrong time and it will be no dividend for you.
Wimie,you would lose the divi.
Also great that being an Investment Fund you can still trade the same way as an Equity and also ISA tradable so no tax on your dividend - gla
Am i correct the dividend will be for shareholders holding till after close on 26th? what if you sell 1 minute before close at 26th?
After the 26th, being the "record date", it'll be interesting to see if there's a sell off
Very nice indeed. a grand invested and you get 350 quid back and in just a few weeks as cash. with special dividend, buyback, good cash flow and a good chance given some time a good rise in share price from 2p all looks really good. and you never know. maybe another special dividend at some point. it will be interesting what ed has got to say about the future of the company. but. hey . get some cash on the 13th may folks.
Plus they have just taken away 10m shares away from the market, so less in issue for us to buy, but a buy all the same so you would think the price will go up?
The bought back shares are held in Treasury so any dividend will go back into the coffers
Brianbadenbe
You would get £357 on the 13th May
If the company has bought back 10m of their own shares, do they get £100K dividend? and what happens with this £100K?
Are they paying themselves? any idea anyone?
Can someone explain to me how a dividend works.
For example i buy £1000 of shares at 2.80 today what do i gain and when?
Could see over 4p by Wednesday, 3p will be hit today imo.
Might be alittle panic buying on Wednesday👀
