If it is a turning point for seed and i think it is then big gains and dividends. who would not want that in the next 12 months to 18 months. and ed comes out smelling of roses by forward thinking and all about shareholders. infact it looks as if he has already changed but time will tell. and i will stay a shareholder for the gains if he has changed his way of thinking putting shareholders first.
I may even sell myself. totally depends what ed says and has in store for the future. but a profit is a profit and a nice dividend is a nice dividend.
It may even be a turning point for Seed!
I do not think any one will be bothered. no one should fall in love with any company in this game. that is what gets investers in a mess in the first place and not cutting a loss. this is all about getting the share price up now and the special dividend. if ed can keep the sentiment with good news then he will keep enough on board to make more money. if not you get the dividend and sell.
That’s the issue Dagenham. I’m not sure people will hang around after receiving the dividend. The SP has increased over 30% following the dividend announcement . Ex- dividend it will have a slightly lower NAV and less cash to invest.
I mentioned that myself. the ex dividend date being more than a week out and more shareholders clicking on to this means it has got to rise.
I am thinking of buying more myself this week. i can see a forward looking stronger share price and the amazing dividend cash payed in just a few weeks. and maybe more to come. basically what is not to like right now. all in my own opinion of course.
The reason being, the SP wouldn’t have increased if they had made the ex-dividend date pre-RNS for the benefit of LTH’s. It’s obviously aimed at boosting the share price and made available to anyone.
I think he will want to keep up good sentiment this year and back to back news of special dividend and clean foods news point to that. still a week to go before going ex dividend and then what he uses the other money for will count. if he can keep sentiment up[ apart from the obvious ex dividend day drop] then all well looking forward.
Interesting to see it’s still available to others buying in now. Still time for those on the sidelines.
At least you are still in to pick up dividend. and as you say amazing dividend. i think ed has changed his way of thinking concerning both the fund and shareholders going forward. he waited till the last lot of leap money to start moving and quickly announced the dividend. and the past is the past. all we all have is the present and future.
I do like the dividend. What can Ed do to follow that? History doesn’t give me much confidence. It hasn’t increased a huge amount for a dividend of this % of SP. He’s had a large amount of cash for over a year and hasn’t done anything! For somebody claiming he’s got dozens of companies knocking on his door each day it’s rather odd. It’s a step in the right direction, let’s see what happens ex-dividend. Good luck
I do have a small interest. Nothing like I held in the past.
Ha ha. i missed it. midas is back. you still holding or sold as it is a while since you posted.
New account. Similar name. First invested in FFWD / Seed here 9 years or so back
Interesting first post. lol.
Agree OBW. For somebody new to Seed it looks amazing. A dividend of near 50% of the share price. There are investors saying they must be making good returns to be paying such huge dividends. The value of the fund is lower than it was 7 years back, so no gains, only huge losses. Ed has done this to pacify the long term shareholders. An amazing dividend, but what about once it’s paid. The share price has been around 2p for over a year when the NAV is 6 or 7p. History has kept the share price in that range. The NAV or cash position hasn’t changed in the last year, probably dropped a small amount. The NAV will drop following the dividend, what will support the SP then?
....we have seen the worst but has Ed learned his lesson?
'Mate =Bait, so don't listen at all or get independent advice before you throw OUR money at any supposed MATE.'
Remember you are an Investment Manager and SEED is supposed to be an investment TRUST!
More news and this i think ed plan. shareholders and future shareholders then can see with dividends, investments etc that the company is in a good financial position. and in no way will this share dilute. it still has over 4 million in the coffers. it is low risk also.
Obvious now that these investments are starting to give back good returns and so hence the dividend payment, you wouldn’t be doing that if they weren’t hundred percent confident in high cash revenues in the near future.
I ext divided payments coming regularly as cash flow increases.
Good to see anyway.
Sure we overpaid THEN. But maybe, just maybe, LGP is on the way up NOW.
Don't get me wrong I'm not saying lgp is a terrible investment, in fact Ed could do a lot worse than increase our stake at the current sp. I was more pointing out that Ed has a track record of making shareholders poorer.
You would think so but if you had you done the slightest bit of digging you would know our stake in lgp is worth considerably less than what we paid for it, the SP is the lowest it has ever been.
Nice RNS,
Good investment again. Just gets better.
Yep. another point. when seed made a 100 percent gain last year the spread early on in the rise was always wide putting investers off. then a few weeks later it was up 100 percent and spread was normal. but to get there you would of had to buy and put up with the harsh spread. all tactics played by the big boys and manipulation.
