Interesting
Wow!
We might even end up blue at the end of today.
By the support @3.75 it looks like there is a large buy order about. Maybe Lombard grabbing some more.
Tell that to SYM

Great that Victor has conceded Volvo & perhaps he will very soon also have to concede VW & Toyota .It would be great if an RNS could be released yo confirm the same -unless Viktor & Sophie are an item
S2020, JC
Yes, Viktor does seem to be clutching at straws. As PM told both me and Viktor at the CMD, stood right in front of us, the new Xilinx agreement was a derisking of the operation, in effect Xilinx have taken on the risk of the delivery of the chip once ready, with SEE algo's. In no other way has anything else changed, SEE will still the same contact with the OEM as per before, regardless whether it's on the chip or SW only unlike SEYE who leave most of that to the Tier 1.
The new agreement with Xilinx is in SEEs favour. How Viktor could dress it up any other way only Viktor will know, perhaps he has a History degree?
One can almost understand why he might think GM would switch as they announced 20+ models but haven't told SEE.
But , he also notes ''The platforms will usually (although not automatically) yield additional new car models for every year over the platforms’ lives of about 10 years. In addition, each car model lives around seven years. For Smart Eye this creates a very foreseeable and stable revenue stream for many years to come as the large switching costs provide solid barriers to entry. ''
A tad contradictory.
Also why would GM switch from what the whole industry say is a very successful product?
Cost? I doubt it
Better product? I doubt it.
And , besides, surely SE would have been notified and the order would have been placed with them if instead of us.
JC he appears to be clutching at straws.
Also if he concedes Volvo do we get Geely and Polestar also.
Safestocks believes we won Volvo , Viktor has a huge change of heart as he said this in Oct 19
"Volvo win
Following the announcement of NVIDIA winning a DMS contract for Volvo we believe that Smart Eye might be able
to win Volvo given its strong partnership with NVIDIA."
Today he concedes defeat, so have SEYE been told the result of the RFQ

I thought this bit was interesting from Viktor:
Impatient & short term focused stock market:
Smart Eye’s first design wins with new customers are in general worth a lot more than what meets the eye as they are platform based. The platforms will usually (although not automatically) yield additional new car models for every year over the platforms’ lives of about 10 years. In addition, each car model lives around seven years. For Smart Eye this creates a very foreseeable and stable revenue stream for many years to come as the large switching costs provide solid barriers to entry. The stock market however, as always, only sees the coming few quarters, meaning significant potential for patient, long term investors.
S2020,
'DMS for SEE’s customer GM, which is something we have not considered before'.
If only we all could have that special relationship with reality, often drug induced psychotropic perspicacity and thinking outside the Box genius that we could imagine SEE's GM nurtured relationship with Qualcomm being displaced by SE.
What is he on FFS? I want some.
Viktor trying hard to knock SEE, but cant even convince himself. Apparently he thinks having a lower cost Chip and partnering with Qualcomm is a negative....
"We are optimistic about Smart Eye’s business model, and believe its merits have been proven
lately by especially the won designs of 2019. Main competitor Seeing Machines (SEE) has not
won any new OEMs during the past year.
SEE appears to have started modifying its business
model. We see some early tendencies that SEE is moving towards a model that resembles
the one of Smart Eye. Firstly, During the CMD, in November, SEE announced a modified
partnership with Xilinx, where Xilinx will take over the role of supplying the Fovio chip directly
to tier-1 customers. SEE also focused a suprising amount of the CMD on other issues than
DMS, although that could be just a co-incidence.
The second data point of interest is the Qualcomm partnership announced at CES where the
two parties “have been working together to optimize the Seeing Machines driver monitoring
platform technology for the Snapdragon Autonomous Platform architecture and its very
capable acceleration hardware.” This is a noteworthy exception from the previous all Xilinx
hardware route.
We continue to expect cutthroath competition from SEE, but we are a bit
puzzled by the tweaking of the business model and strategy this late in the processes. We
have seen previous examples in the industry of unsuccessful business model pivots (e.g.
from license to chip) that were not well-rooted among customers/end customers, and
consequently failed, only to be reversed.
All in all, we cannot distill what is the chicken and egg in the equation, i.e. if there are no wins
due to the revisions of the model, or if the RFQ outcomes propelled the changes. The above is
just wild speculation, but if there is something to it, Smart Eye might have the upper hand in
some of the current RFQs, e.g. Volkswagen. It could possibly even become relevant for the
second gen. DMS for SEE’s customer GM, which is something we have not considered
before.
Nevertheless, we want to once again emphasize that SEE is a fierce competitor,
preferred by e.g. Veoneer."

Can't buy any atm. Anyone else get a quote?
L2 -LOOKIN better
Or a well timed tree shake?
Viktor also thinks the VW RFQ is imminent.
S2020
The price rallied at the same time you made this posting
this probably explains why the price has just rallied
"We do not think the market is delayed, apart from maybe one or two specific individual
OEMs. After all, there is a deadline for the EU regulation. We guess some procurements
have been settled on the tier-1 level. However, it can take up to six months, sometimes
more, before all paperwork of the tier-2 contracts is done."

New note from Redeye
"The Qualcomm press release also stated that SEE and Qualcomm are working on an
optimized implementation of a DMS for a global premium automaker. We guess this is Volvo,
but considering the wording in the press release it is not entirely finalized. We want to keep a
cautious view and have therefore excluded Vovlo from our estimates."
