...why all the contributions have stopped here?
Uninspiring numbers. The traditional fund manager business has been losing to trackers and more nimble firms for a while, and they are trying to tag on more niche areas such as ESG- driven business which isn't performing either. All in all I can't see the downward slope of the share price arresting any time soon.
Typical financial services company: flat revenues, costs up. Will not keep staff costs down, because they are all part of the bloodsucking City gravy train.
Share split.
Share consolidation
Omg ,what's happening here... minus 82 percent
Goldman Sachs cuts Schroders price target to 2,620 (2,680) pence - 'sell'
----------
Goldman Sachs cuts Abrdn price target to 180 (190) pence - 'neutral'
How can they put a neutral call on Abrdn, an asset manager that's struggling with huge outflows and put a sell call on Schroders, a well run asset manager that's grew AUM from H1'21 £734.1bn to H1'22 £773.4bn (I think part of the growth in AUM was Schroders' 75% stake acquisition of Greencoat Capital.)
I understand in this current market environment, why Schroders isn't a buy as inevitably AUM will be down when they report results next year but why do Goldman Sachs favour Abrdn over Schroders?
It was announced day after I wrote post, comes into effect 19th September,
Looks like we have to wait and see. Gosh it's a real quiet board for such a large Co
I'd like to know too. Am a recent buyer and bought a multiple of 17 so as not to miss out on the maximum amount of additional shares! I hadn't considered whether the record date could be set retrospectively. Doesn't really make sense to me in terms of SP management, but what do I know.
Hi, not been on the board for a while, -- like others -- a quiet board.
I have been a holder of sdrc, thinking to buy a few sdr, in my sipp. does anyone know when the record date will be for sdr holders, who will be issued with additional sdr shares -- to compensate for dilution of their rights?
might add here however if the record date going to be in the past, buying now would not get the new shares
thanks
Thank you Krustysmegma, I did follow through on it so quite happy, def a top trade in my life! However bit disappointed as yesterday did further research and came to the conclusion sdrc was best investment I could make and was preparing to sell others to buy more. Sadly that opportunity missed but still my investment was big enough to make a difference, quite happy and very highly rate the company.... May still buy more
Wow, great call dadean! Hope you backed it up by buying SDRC. Up 30% this morning following news of enfranchisement.
Why has the company tanked as much as it has? i viewed this as a buy and hold, for teh long term,
personally topped up here as my limited knowledge of this company suggests value here....
Also see the widened gap between the voting and the non voting shares? never really been as wide in recent times, teh sdrc especially could be a worthy buy, the gap between the two could well narrow
Ex-dividend 24th March price: £32.53 (£0.85 dividends per share)
Price now: £32.92
The SDR share price has gone nowhere in years. So let's try an overpriced acquisition instead of tackling the nuts and bolts of the existing sprawl.
Wonder what the culture at SDR is that needs to be protected that major value creating deals can be discarded?
shame Schroders on board with JLG buyout but opposing First Group sell off. JLG buyout by KKR& friend breaks up JLG and obv. offsets KKR buyout cost.
Yet another year of exceptional items which are no more exceptional than you or me getting out of bed every morning. Share is going nowhere until there is a real grip on operating costs.
I don't see this doing anything soon, so I've sold.
GL to anyone holding.
I hope that's for a good reason.
Received the divi today. That was welcome :-)
Has the share gone ex div or would I still get next dividend? Thank you
I'm glad I didn't add.
Are we anywhere near the bottom yet?
Somehow I seriously doubt it.
at 3375 or so.
And now it's 2657.
PE just over 14.5 and a 4%+ divi
I should probably add really.
