Crumbs, good posts.
Would you a Ruck like another coffee or tea? Strong?
Make it a strong one lol
Indeed it is all about translating science into survival ... however not all science is equal or all scientists .... you cannot help be impressed with scancells science and scientists ... the amount of work that is and has gone into moditope being an example I am heartened that not only has the moditope mechanism been shown to exist in humans both healthy and cancer sufferers using donated blood... but now scancell are looking into how tumors may protect themselves from or halt that mechanism from translating into survival and how that can be overcome... those things to my mind is what makes the difference and is what makes scancell a science powerhouse if only a biotech market minnow... anyways as for translating that into sp ... it wont be the data IMHO it will be the deal/s we never got any sp benefit from SCIB1 success.... sure modi1 ought to be different but I would not trust AIM to value amazing incoming data they would need someone else to do it for them.... the deal/s
Good point Ruck,
I"ll get a tea!!
Morning All,
I must say I get slightly irritated by talk of “the science”. All Biotech companies have some sort of science, in the field of immunology, “the science” is pretty much the same. You either stimulate/improve an immune response or remove the blockers or both. The path through the teens, into the twenties and beyond is now no longer down to “the science” it is now purely down to proving the science is effective in humans in real world trials. The deals will come on the back of data not “science”.
It would be like Mercedes F1 banging on about the internal combustion engine, the mechanism of activation being the spark that ignites the fuel that drives the piston. I can’t remember the last time I heard anyone from Mercedes talk about that in isolation. They talk about the whole package, driver, tyres, pit stop strategy, weight, brakes, software, analytics. To be the best, you have to excel in ALL departments. Otherwise you could have the best driver, best engine but fitted some cheap remould tyres on the rear wheels.
I’ll get a coffee now!
Morning All,
TF my post.........."""Strange, I was told by a few people on here that conferences were a waste of time, lol.""", it was said in levity, however, it was true. I have always said todays conferences are tomorrows news. Glad you owned the statement though.
Shame you had to add..............""".without expecting we will be flying through the mid-teens SP wise or 'our dreams can make us fly' and so on.""Hmmm, out of context and petty.
As for your last paragraph, I presume that was addressed to me and ipad, well you have answered it in one. Lindy IS involved in any talks from conception to deal. That being our point in context at the time, begged the question over his role, just a question, not a criticism, chill out!!!
Thanks Crumbs - 2 links well spotted indeed ! Delighted to see Prof. Lindy presenting and I feel much more positive about such Conferences WHENEVER an address IS being made by her.
C7 I don't think I myself have ever used the words 'waste of time' used in this context. I can join you in agreeing that these two Meets look productive without expecting we will be flying through the mid-teens SP wise or 'our dreams can make us fly' and so on.
Ray P - your Saturday 08.11 was most helpful. You've posted summaries like that before and what great reminders to have when the SP is languishing. Scancell have so much and it's hard to guess where the first 'booster' for the SP will come from. On current form, I don't think it'll be the SCIB1 Combo trial which I too have 'mentally parked' for now. But who knows what's coming?
C7 again - "By definition Lindy (CSO) will always be in talks from conception to a final deal, so my question was going to be exactly what does CH do. Anybody know??" C7 I could hardly believe that you could post that. As for Prof. Lindy - I'm not sure about your assertion 'always'. . . . I'd suggest that Prof. Lindy would be involved in detail UNTIL an interested Party is convinced about the science itself - but I think you'd find that JC/CH/Non Execs & Advisors would largely take it from there with Prof. Lindy being kept in the picture. Prof. Lindy of course is the focal point until the science is 'sold' to the other side. Crumbs I'd agree that's probably how the Vulpes deal happened.
Nice day all and time for a 'blue' week ?
