Thanks for your reply. No offence meant, just from footage seen in Thailand where a few police stations were attacked by mobs, destroying home and 160 police motorcycles burnt over a Facebook post criticising Muslims. Would enjoy privately debating that with you but yes the world is looking shaky all over, I guess i like the aspect of Global news.
But hey time to go on topic.................Anyone fancy an RNS today??? I do ATB GlenFidrich
Rioting is a stretch. There is dissatisfaction, mainly because the economy has been hit hard (Thailand relies heavily on exports and tourism), and people are looking for someone to blame for their financial woes. But I see this all over the world and I'm not sure the UK is much different. As far as managing the health crisis arising from Covid-19, Thailand has escaped relatively unscathed (only 58 deaths at the last count) which points to sound management on the part of the Thai government. I would be careful about believing a news outlet that gave succor to Osama bin Laden when he was alive, or one that has been accused of "promoting the Muslim Brotherhood, and having a pro-Sunni and an anti-Shia bias in its reporting of regional issues".
Take your point though, Qatar was banned from U.A.E back in 1988 for their reltionships with Russia, China and terrorist organisations.
But their reporting of the Lebanon crisis is scathing to the Hezbollah led Government, which is backed by Iran. The world is changing and the U.A.E are negotiating a return to Qatar back to the table.
Morning Glenfidrich, welcome to the BB.
Yes they have been reporting demonstrations and rioting across Thailand I have been watching it. As far as Al Jazeera is concerned and being Jewish myself I haven"t heard one political statement all week, compared to News in this country and Murdoch news for starters.
Morning LL, and a lot will be moving out to London Suburbs and away from London not just EU. Watching global news the grass isn"t any greener around the world, believe me.
I call it wave 2 as simply speaking with NHS staff this week for some time inpatients at this juncture have not been lower since the virus started but the way people are justyfing what they do concerns me.
As far as Trump goes, well he has negotiated peace with the U.A.E, that is a huge step for us. Not over there yet by a long way, regardless of whether it should be.
Complaceny, yes I see loads of it. Have a good day.
The crisis in Thailand? Could you elaborate? I live in Thailand (Bangkok) and am not sure what you're talking about. Incidentally, Al Jazeera news is Qatari state-owned. Do you really believe their reporting is free from "political bias"?
Indeed. A friend relayed news that another IB is moving depts to EU, and only those who have/can get EU passports will be relocated. At least they know now instead of at year end.
With so many other problems in the world, perhaps best that our daily round of news is judged on facts. With the USA election, there are certainly lots of opinions being aired. LoL
Not sure if the raises now are wave 2 or a continuation of the first wave - I would not want compliancy to set on ahead of the flu season.
Hope you manage to stay frosty down south.
Broke my heart on my Wednesday coming back from UCLH in Central London on Wednesday evening.
I hadn"t been out for nearly three weeks but driving back through Cambden Town and Camden market , my favourite area I counted 54 empty properties and the bustle had gone as had the market vendors. People are saying the West End Area will be empty of shops in the next 10 years or so, and a major residential buildings, of which there are many now already, will be the norm. Office space will eventually move too en masse, as a direct result of changing work conditions and more people working from home.
After boycotting news channels and media from the lockdown because of political reasons I have settled for Al Jazeera News, no political bias, it is global news, we hardly get a mention for simple reasons, the criseses in Lebanom, Brazil, Belarus, China, Thailand, Taiwan,Russia and Europe to name a few are far more dire, news worthy. Worth a watch, it makes our problems seem trivial from a human aspect.
