Hi Bermudashorts
I had not realised that about SCIB2, I thought by implication we would bring it back in house.
Just shows, everything is in the details, so thank you for bring it to our attention.
When I was putting that list together I just thought
"it's quite unbelievable just how much bio-technology real estate Scancell owns".
Even if half of it does half the job we would like its still possibly commercially massive.
Chester.
Chester,
I don't think we'll see 13 people attending the AGM in person - most likely will be just the minimum necessary to form a quorum which I think is 2.
Some interesting points in your 22.01 but for clarity, SCIB2 hasn't been brought back in house . The recent circular hints strongly that it may happen but at the moment all we know is that CRUK are carrying out a review of their ability to fund projects. They may decide to continue or they may voluntarily hand SCIB2 back. If they do nothing and SCIB2 just remains on the shelf, there usually would be a clause in the licensing agreement that could be invoked to allow Scancell to reclaim it, although given that CRUK isn't your standard commercial partner, I'm sure it wouldn't come to that. As things stand though, the licensing agreement with CRUK for SCIB2 remains in place.
Hi AB124
I didn't explain very well. The '13 ish' people will be at the meeting in person.
All us shareholders should be able to sign up for a link to attend via the internet.
We will know exactly what Scancell have organised when we are given the Notice for the AGM. Which we should find out about at the end of next week after the General Meeting to approve the Open Offer.
Chester.
HL have never charged me a penny to issue a letter confirming my Scancell holding.
That said, I have never had to show the letter to get in (maybe I shouldn't reveal that!).
LL - your comment about owning a few shares to attend AGMs reminds me that it used to be a thing to buy a handful of shares in breweries which as a rule provided liquid refreshment at theirs.
LL, yes all their clients shareholdings will be in their Crest account.
Your platform will have a record of your shareholding so (in theory) if you want to attend an AGM they need to issue you with a letter confirming your shareholding hence your entitlement to be at the AGM of Scancell. So are you telling me that IG want £100 to provide you with that letter or authority? That seems massively expensive. or do they think you want something else?
AB - Most platforms are crest shareholders, so there are no certificates.
Thus my interest in how much other platforms charge (if at all). Back in the day, I used to know a few people who made it a point to buy only a few shares in many stocks just so they could attend the AGMs.
Chester,
Does that mean anyone can join in or do we need proof of shareownership. And if the AGM is online maybe the attendance could be a great many more than 13?
So what are they charging you for? Noone can charge a registered holder with a share certificate to attend, so what is the charge specifically for?
The AGM will be a Virtual affair this year there will be around 13 people at the meeting which will be the directors an accountant and the auditors. Depends on what money they spend whether it will be a video link or just audio.
So we should be able to sign up and log in if we wish to take part.
Chester.
The charge is £100 to arrange to attend an AGM.
It is a pity I transferred my Scancell EIS shares onto that platform. At the time, it seemed like a quick and easy move.
LL are you referring to a charge for providing you with an authority to attend as you do not have a share certificate? this will take the form of a letter bearing the seal of the Company who manages your shareholding within your Investment Platform.
LL I would be shocked if they charged anything
Burble, The date for the AGM has not yet been announced. I'm not expecting it before 13 November (after new shares are awarded).
Everyone: How much does your platform charge for arranging attendance at an AGM? It's now one of my criteria for moving platforms, having found out how much mine charges. I wasn't planning on attending this year, I just wanted to find out.
Burble,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm sure once the date and format for the AGM is known and if they fit further ideas can be discussed and considered.
I'm certain your agreement in principle is valued and appreciated by most if not all on the BB. Sounds like we will have valuable and helpful resource if all the stars align.
Thanks again for the positive response.
AB
Will try to attend where possible. Happy to do some of the science, though I suspect Inan will also join from a technical perspective if he is able to attend.
Do we know when the AGM is yet? I haven't seen anything, but hoping that I've not missed something in the most recent news.
As for questions some may get answered in Cliff and Lindy etc's presentations so it is one of those try to ask what we have not been told but would like to know situations that we won't know till on the day... Certainly, though I'd be happy to back burble coming up with questions around the science...
I was hoping it may be similar to the proactive event which I agree was very good and may well be the way of doing them forever now ... and I'm presuming chippers would be the moderator not sure if it will be him just picking and choosing questions from a screen which we can't see though? Could be the first scancell AGM i get to attend!
The recent proactive presentation was a great format with people being able to submit questions by text.
Of course, it would need a moderator for the questions - Chippers?
I can just imagine Inan as the moderator - "This question is Drivel next please" :-) It would be entertaining.
Obviously inanaco should take the role so he can tell Lindy what she is doing :)
Has anyone done one of these online AGMs yet? what can we expect the format to be?
Ray Pointer,
Absolutely, that's why I said its a big ask. There's also the fact that it could be potentially embarrassing for a professional to be put in that position, hence asking way before doing anything. :-)
I'd be quite happy with that but Burble has his own work to consider of course.
I hope my last is OK with everyone on the BB. It's a bit of a cheek just coming out with it, so sorry if I overstepped the mark. :-(
Burble,
Once we know when the AGM is due, and if you would be able to "attend" would you be prepared to be the spokeperson for the "Scientific" questions so that any logical followups to such stuff could be from someone who not only knows the science on a professional level, but also has experience in dealing with people so that nuances in replies can be identified and exapnded upon by the right questioning?
It's a big ask but maybe a useful facility for readers of the BB to have when the opportunity to question the BoD is avilable.
