Morning LL, you can add being a wonderful writer to yor growing list of attributes.
I wish I was one of those gulls this morning, a feast of mussels for breakfast, well now you are talking!!
Seems you have plenty to do in your small haven, have a good day
Nature is wonderful indeed. I think I've seen a few of the common buzzards flying over the loch, though recently a large flock of gulls have made their way here to feast upon the mussels. I'm assuming they drop them from a height to break the shells as I find pieces all through the grass some distance from the shore.
No stars this morning as the sky is letting lose the water essential to all life. During the day, I see it drips down the granite and quartz stone rock behind my small haven, as the small plants and moss seeks to find a purchase in its nooks and crannies. The bees have been out in force gathering the nectar, reminding me that I must get busy myself and my seeds into the soil soon if I want to enjoy any blossoms and home grown veg this year. I think dawn must be an hour away at least, so I shall catch up on other work ahead of the market opening.
Ray, if they are buzzards the make a very high pitched mew call
Yes Ruck, you may well be right.
I was looking towards the sun and it was difficult to make out the markings.
Ray,
Were they buzzards? They are very big and normally fly as a pair.
Good evening LL.
Yes, nature is wonderful.
I live in Kent and saw an amazing sight the other day.
2 very large birds of prey gliding effortlessly way above. Far too big to be any of the common birds of prey.
I am no expert, but they looked very much like white tailed eagles which have recently been re-introduced to southern England.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/aug/22/white-tailed-eagles-southern-britain
Whatever they were, they were a magnificent sight.
I've never had a great need for "things", though I appreciate a car that can get up a 1 in 6 incline carrying some weight!
As you say, much is happening behind the scenes at high levels, and much we will never learn about - at least not for some decades. However there are many local groups organising volunteers and help throughout communities. There are also international teams of techie volunteers helping to provide tools for them to use. I heard about flaskdata.io because of their contact tracing using phone location, something I think we can all do manually - just in case it is ever needed.
Over the past few weeks in my isolation, I have been watching the birds all around, and of course the sheep, whilst wishing I had a better camera to capture the unfolding of spring here. There is still a touch of snow on the wee hill slightly west of me on the north side. On the few clear evenings, when I have been awake, I've watched the sky unfolding and grateful that I learned at least how to find north when I was quite young.
I believe we all have many happy chapters left to write, if we seek to find the joy in the simple things. Please continue to take good care of yourself, and if you get a chance, to note down your stories.
LL, we have been discussing a bit sleeping problems. I feel for me that is because the reality sinks in further each and every day nd it is that burden of thinking of thoe round us and everything else in our live that is just bout the reason for it.
I know for me the moment I wake up I think I was having a bad dream, realise it isn"t and turn the news on. For anyone bothered by this sleeping problem, for me It is normal to sleep 16 hours a day, I am finding I am doing that every other day. Tonight is the night after such a sleep. so I will try and stay up far later than my normal 7.00 and see how that works out.
Appreciating the postings this week, moving away from the blame games, I feel as I did time will tell, and just perhaps there are a few different government and scientific stratagies that will help rid us of this virus ASAP. When I read about this mortuary and every other thing the Government are doing I just feel I cannot imagine how much work is going on that we just never hear about to reach goals we have and how much planning is taking place before these things can be announced, which some seem to prefer to see as delays. We are all in this together, I think that is the first time most of us have ever had to say that, the pressure on most people is unimaginable to me, in reality little has changed for me, I am just noticing that things I felt I needed, which weren"t that many have become less as each day passes.
It feels as though some reality is coming into bear.
Please keep yourself and those you love as safe as you can. I hope the Government has kept enough cash behind to pay for the vaccine in September. I am very hopeful that long before then, those at home will have access to testing kits which can tell them whether or not they have been exposed.
As if anybody needs one, but in view of the 563 deaths in the past 24 hours here in England they are building a mortuary just a few miles from the new Nightingale Hospital the size of two football pitches to hold many thousands of victims from the COVID19 virus.
And I was worrying about getting a few groceries!!!
Goodnight All.
