The map is showing battery manufacturing plants rather than lithium mining but I understand our friend, the Energy secretary, is keen for Portugal to have one.
We need to get our act together and appear on this map :

Tesla gigafactory to be in Berlin. Good for EMH ?
I think you are correct. I had to check on a satellite image but Boticas is the nearest town to MdB.
CM, your link confirms that Boticas is us, and 25km away is the other company.
It’s only 25km away from MdB so it’s somewhat ambiguous? See this archive: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.france24.com/en/20180913-booming-electric-car-sales-drive-lithium-rush-portugal
Not sure that's true CM. I know DA was in Boticas last Thursday, so it must be something to do with us (unless there are two Boticas).
Just to clarify, I believe these protests took place in Boticas, Montalegre, which is the other lithium mine on the Spanish border ( nothing to do with SAV). There has been a whiff of corruption implied in this licence award if you follow the link within this report : https://www.portugalresident.com/anti-mining-protestors-force-secretary-of-state-to-abort-scheduled-visit/
So no reported problems at our MdB mine ( as far as I know!).
Sure they want to Mean Business but the news quotes 'Dozens' of protestors so not exactly mass protesting....have seen more protesters wanting to stop a bus only lane in Chelmsford.
For me though it adds to the need to get moving on the studies, reports, etc we're currently working on and in control of .
To show the how local community concerns can hopefully be addressed but in a way still allows for the existing mining license to be enhanced and brings the benefits to all.
So he didn't visit everything he was meant to. I don't like this news - these protesters are obviously pretty well organised and mean business. For us that could mean the absolute last thing we need - more delays.
Nearly fell off the chair when I saw a rise in the SP!
A little local difficulty? https://www.macaubusiness.com/portugal-anti-lithium-mining-demonstrators-de-rail-official-visit/
Putting the dress code to one side, the single tweet seems to have woken up the buyers.
I’d like to think I spurred them into action, but I am not so vain! Anyway I see DA didn’t dress to impress. Easy to spot the minister but the CEO is very low profile in mufti!
CM....you was a few mins early :-)
The Tweet is out.
Did it happen? Not a tweet to confirm. Mining operations in Portugal are becoming political hot potatoes due to unpopularity with local voters/ residents. For a minority government it won’t do to be too much in favour and it would seem that this political strategy has been working quite well - “According to a story published in Weekly Visão on September 12, 2017, dozens of licensing applications over the years have led to nothing, as no new mine has been opened in Portugal for 30 years. “
It’s quite an advantage for SAV to have a license in force much to the envy of the likes of Fortescue awaiting the delayed auction that is promised by the year end but shows no sign of happening?
would be lovely just to hear any update about anything!
Apparently the Portuguese Minister for Energy is visiting today. No doubt snapshots will follow quite quickly. Can but hope that any follow through from his visit does as well.
