Thanks RMM and Potnak.
One good thing will come of all this. There will be loads of treatments for pneumonia in a couple of years time.
I agree on RMM. If our TYK2 (1801) is worth investigating for C19 it will be done by whoever buys it from us :-). If we are in NDA territory then only the active participants will be able to look at it anyway. That's why Tim was lukewarm. I reckon his hands are tied and we don't need the extra complications. The data and tox studies should be enough for someone else to take the baton and run with it.
Hi Krone - On the half year call they were very luke warm on getting a grant for TYK2 in the context of the virus. I got the impression that they thought there was enough going on with Aurora, 737 and TYK2 not to add further strain by going through the grant process. I may be wrong but I thought after Tim's Proactive interview that they'd already got something lined up and the last thing they need is further complication. What would be interesting is the possibility that the SKIL platform now commands some value (in the same way that Sitryx have sold theirs). As you say, it would be better to sell this on and let the big boys develop it in the context of their wider approach to Covid 19. I've noted today that Avacta (where Mike Owen is a director) have today announced a collaboration with Cytiva (GE Healthcare) to work on Covid 19 rapid testing kits. I'd be very surprised if Tim/John weren't aware of the options but have to decided to remain focused on the main prize. Waiting on the US patent update is proving tortuous and this may be one area of delay that is the result of the virus. Meanwhile with the SP where it is, its a great time for bed and ISA! GLA
Further thought, would the various patents cover the use of Sareum’s TYK2 molecules in the context of viruses?
Thanks Thoth - but wasn’t John very luke warm about the prospect of grant funding saying words to the effect that it was a complex and time consuming process. Wouldn’t we be better if licensing at pace to big pharma with the wherewithal to get research progressed quickly, in the current circumstances given the urgency of the need.
thx. so heres the summary I promised.
a simple explainer from yesterday. You will hear much more about "cytokine cascade" over the coming months. Its basically an overstimulated immune response that does more harm than good (like lupus, RA, psoriasis, sepsis)

some generic tyk2 cytokine response. note IL6 family which it acts on

and the research I believe sar were talking about
https://erj.ersjournals.com/content/erj/50/1/1601953.full.pdf
so lets see if we get some grant cash on this. got a molecule nearly ready for trials and the academic rsearch supports some research cash
It's a nice distraction, thinking that 1801 could help as part of a combo for COVID 19 treatment but I still think ours is nowhere near ready. All the links I've seen have been for established or late-stage trial drugs. 1801 hasn't even been in P1 yet. Problem is, the race is on now. If there are any winners, it will be in a few weeks\months. The only positive to this is, whoever buys 1801, will have an eye on what it could do in the future. The pharma industry was caught napping this time, I bet that doesn't happen again.
think this mention it...………..

Which is what is killing peeps. Immunre response overload. Ill post up a ****load tomorrow. If i remember.
Sareum are not into the vaccines business theirs is to do with the immune response to pathogens, cytokines Interleukins/interferons!
Its gone a bit weird tbh. The company have never acknowledged the chinese govt funded. Chinese military hospital research into 20347. Despite it being published. They have never referenced the sri department of defence funded study into the same. But acknowledged at the agm they have the final results but cannot publish. I cant even find it on the interweb anymore and i have skills. Woooh wooh wooh wooh wwooh twilight zone.
Can you remind me, please, of the name of the US Defence lab which trialled our compounds a few back? There are new trials taking place to find a vaccine for the Corona Virus at US Defence lab at Fort Detrick in Maryland.
Thank you.
