Age uk say over 14500 you still have to pay from your income and a tariff ....whatever that is....i think it means the interest from the 14500 which they somehow work out at 10% i expect.
Look into it further... the 23500 figure is the figure that the council will not help with costs if you have more than this... if you have under 23500 they will assist but still take some of your savings....down to just over 8000..... ive checked already.
Just saying the threashhold is £23,500, not £8,000. I know for a friends mum as I am dealing with her finances. Still not great and agree go spend
£500m .. not £500 !
Talking about pension pots.... dont worry too much...if you put your savings in your kids name or stash it under your floorboards and you end up needing care at 70/ 80 the council takes you down to your last 8k on care costs! Mate died without ill ess last week early 50s so my advice.... get it spent or buy a classic car/ vw camper van that wont lose much money.
The interesting point hear is Sareum has so many assets Sra 1801, sar1802 , sra737,flt3 , skil platform, covid , It is not unimaginable that a number of different companies could acquire individual sareum assets shown above. Very simple maths divide £3b by 6 equals £500 each
Now i know is not likely in the next few months but anything is possible in the next 6/12 months subject to good progress , but equally it is a distinct possibility within in the current environment in a hot biotech sector governments around the world desperate for a solution for covid to rebuild their economies .Each of our assets above have real value.( i realise not a simple average but just illustrating a point) What other biotech in aim has such inherent value, and we have seen some 100 bag this year, we just need to40 bag from here to visit Poundland next year!
As a reminder Searle posted yesterday that his broker has said that liquidity in sareum shares is drying up, and largely due to share holders placing sell orders at say 50p or a pound , which stops your shares being lent to shorters and borrowed by MM to provide liquidity in sareum shares. This will help drive the share price forward with all the news we expect in the next 3 months.
GLALTH , this is our time coming very soon
D:)
Billy we will do 5p this week if rns drops on milestone
30p will do me from 1.3 . But that won't happen . 5p nice new car xx
You know that is valuing company at 3bn which is too high given its price now and where we are in terms of advancement. 30p is best it's going to get and that is a stretch
"I hope it does go to £1. Frustrating that would give me enough to retire but my holding is in my SIPP which I can't access for 15 years."
As I have other income streams, annuity income from pensions will likely attract 40% income tax. Ideally, you want to have the SAR shares in a S&S ISA. If not, capital gains tax is 10% or 20% (higher rate), which is far more preferable to 40% income tax. If you end up in 45% tax band, even more pain.
During the Thatcher years, I was really keen on building up my pension, but the numbers mean that, in retirement, I end up paying 40% tax when taking it out. the tax rebate was only 33%, 40 years ago!
Don't forget, when you retire, the pesky state pension will use up half your tax free personal allowance. With the pension Life Time Allowance, you could even pay 55% on the lump sum, if you exceed the LTA.
I have 1 million shares of SAR. If it did go to £1 a share, I definitely DO NOT want it in a SIPP.
I hope it does go to £1. Frustrating that would give me enough to retire but my holding is in my SIPP which I can't access for 15 years.
GLA
A 28p share price fo SAR doesn't look that far fetched now does it. Just over a x 10 increase, which as we have all seen with other small pharma stocks on AIM in 2020 is more than achievable. I'm holding out for the Poundland party (if my nerves can take it!).
workinginpharma- Im actually not at all excited strangely. letting this run into next year. 28p would be nice. I think it will be pounds within a year. and if Covid works out tens of pounds. Zen like buy & hold for me. But its good to have a larger SP base to build from for any deals
I would think that before we get to poundland, the business with their patents will be bought by a major player. Can't see this being able to drive that far North without it being based upon a very sought after product - which will in turn create interest from the big boys. I wouldn't be surprised to see this hit 10p within the next week or so, then a steady tick up to 20-25p during November. It's now all about the steady and consistent release of the good news, not about the big bang theory.
We could also do with some key media attention to attract the investment co's. That would be the game changer. GLA, lets hold onto this rise today and push on during the week!
Thoth2 - On a scale of 1 to 10, how excited are you? (I'm sure a lot of us will use this as a gauge, even if we dont admit it)
Genuine question...
Videos super. Have to learn the words for the party, but which party ? Hint (£)
