Bound to see a rise today on those numbers! Should be back over 400p at some point soon. Quiet board is a good board!
Ruffer LLP have added a percent to their holding
Sooner or later SAG is going to pop,.
· Record H1 results, slightly ahead of the Board's expectations
· Revenue growth of 10% to £44.8m (H1 2021: £40.7m)
· Adjusted* operating profit increased by 22% to £8.8m (H1 2021: £7.3m)
· Adjusted* basic EPS growth of 10% to 14.6 pence (H1 2021: 13.3 pence)
· The Group continues to actively manage its strategic investment in TP Group
· Balance sheet remains very strong with Group cash of £38.6m and net funds of £23.9m (H1 2021: £29.0m and £13.0m)
· On track for another record year in 2022, despite the deteriorating economic outlook, with Science Group benefitting from sector diversification and a strong US Dollar.
Onwards and upwards yet again.
No mention of TP group though.
"The Group has had a good start to the year, with performance through April slightly ahead of the Board's expectations. It is therefore anticipated that the Group will report adjusted operating profit ("AOP") for the first half of 2022 around 20% higher than in the same period of the prior year. The Board is closely monitoring the impact of materials, energy and wage inflation but is benefitting from a broadly offsetting effect due to the strengthening of the US Dollar relative to Sterling.
Gross cash at 30 April 2022 was £38.4 million with net funds of £23.4 million. The Group's strong balance sheet, enhanced by the undrawn facility of £25 million arranged in December 2021, enables the Board to continue to evaluate corporate opportunities to increase the scale and/or development of the Group"
Bobbyaxelrod,
I think you are correct, it is my understanding too.
The shares are bought back and held in treasury until such time as the shares are issued to an employee under the performance share plan.
For example, On the 22nd of March 2021, Sameet Vohra was issued with 50,000 shares at an exercise price of 1p per share!
£500 for (at today's price) £200,000 worth of shares!
They are performance related, so in theory it should be good for us too if targets are hit.
"Each of these Options will vest after three years from the date of issue and are exercisable at the nominal value of the share of 1 pence per share for a period of seven years from vesting, provided that certain performance conditions have been satisfied. The Options may vest subject to the achievement of Earnings per Share growth targets in each of the three financial years 2021-2023."
Can anyone explain the pace of "transaction in own shares" recently?
Am I right in saying that these are not buybacks (i.e. the shares are not being cancelled)? Are they for employee benefit/bonuses?
We certainly live in interesting times! A premium on the placing and all the shares snapped up - including 2 million from the Chairman.
I guess that with this warchest we intend to top up the holding in TP to 29.9% and then go into full battle. Definitely interesting times.
Yes that's prob a good call. Noticed a sudden drop from 450/470 to 420/450 this arvo with no trades shown at that time so maybe a big delayed sell yet to be announced? Can buy now at 434p.... Maybe a large investor got wind of a fund raise or summat...
For fear of a placing to pay for the takeover or else the takeover stalls leaving SAG with a rump of shares it borrowed for but no overall control. Will buy back and more in a placing hut have moved to risk off mode here.
Makesca paper offer to TPG even more attractive. It has increased its stake in TPG today so clearly it is not just going to be a passive investor to TPG's resistance.
Yes at around 1% of issued shares there might well be an sold RNS issued which would shed some light, but the fact the price didn't drop is generaly more positive than it might have been.
Traded at lunchtime at 830p. No effect on price and might even be a positive if there is an overhang. Ready for a move up?
Unless there is a large unreported sale on the books. Most are buys so far and I think the Mms are just tempering the rise. I expect this will rise further in the coming days or weeks.
Yes great interims again and would expect upgrades to yr end 22 and 23 expected earnings if they can maintain this rate of growth. Solid hold and will look to acquire more on any sp weakness goimg forward.
I suppose i should congratulate them on the turn around at Frontier Smart too (Spoken sincerely like an ex-FS share holder ;)
*** takes a bow. Next TP 550p. More to come. Keep buying
400p of corz. It has skipped past it now. Ready for the next leg up to 450p
Buys moved to full ask of 410p now. Always a good sign. I expect 4p on the bid to reappear shortly.
And while valuing the company is not an exact science it's ability to make money is. Upgrades on upgrades mean that the market is behind the curve. Smashed it again today and now the prospects are not yet in the price. I am looking for 550p here. Keep buying.
dsc1978
How would you value it?
Mcap is 170 mil
Revenue is 73 mill.
Profit is 7mil
This is very cheap.
The Naked trader has tipped it on his website with a TP of 450p to 500p. Thought the relentless buying was suss. Looks like he has quite a following therefore. Oh well I best welcome the herd on here as they will soon arrive.
Up almost 5% and a stream of buying? Maybe IC has given it a mention. Very pleased having added only on Weds. Keep buying
Those forms are filled by box tickers who can’t be trusted to be accurate. Just look at numbers if “amended” ones, I suppose.
Nope. RNS is wrong, there WAS a previous stake. They are selling down in fact, into strength.
