Just another new bunch of clueless investers that this forum goes through like a dose of salts..
Sirius b you are correct mate some people on here don’t understand the business let alone the products yet make there own wild assumptions which in this case is wrong Good Luck
Ricky, there is no requirement for a ftse Company to report quarterly. RR report their results every 6 months. The update tomorrow is just a trading update of which we are receiving more in this current environment. Whilst I am neutral on RR at the moment, given I don’t see people flying long haul much at the moment or in the near future, a lot of your points are just your wild ‘glass half empty’ opinion and not facts.
Are you serious? Comparing this to the Spanish flu for level and time of destruction. Medical science is just a tad better than it was back then plus covid is not flu.
Do sell. Drop in price is absolutely fine. Rr will not just survive but come out stronger. People will fly and holiday. That appetite will not dim anytime soon. Rr will also adapt and grow other avenues. World class British engeneering will revive, innovate and thrive with companies like Rolls leading the way. I'm happy to keep loading. Timeline is key. I won't need any of this cash for minimum 5years. Happy to wait. ATB
Ricky before you start to overplay this issue that is being addressed and as a retired aero engineer of over 20 years experience I think you need to look at the bigger pic here .This is about sending out a statement that when something occurs within an engine that safety and acknowledgment of this is clearly made to the relevant body EASA and what is being done to resolve it .I knew about this yesterday morning but due to integrity and professionalism of my wife I would not put this on a forum until the correct statement was issued .Remember since lockdown the remaining issues with the Trent 1000 have been addressed and I’m confident that this one regarding certain seals will be too Don’t always believe everything in papers until the exact facts are addressed .
Interesting how we each put our own spin on it glass half empty or glass half full. Being a footsie 100 they have to report quarterly so thursday is a keynote report . If they have several billion in reserve and they need more then we have a problem . Bare in mind it's all borrowing and will have to be paid back . Dont foresee a reinstatement of a dividend b4 2023 if they survive . As we open up we could see a second wave similar to the Spanish flue which came back 4 x . If rolls royce cant recover there revenue stream from flying hours this side of christmas they will need mega bucks to survive as they are . They have 4 parts might need breaking up. On 14 billion revenues last year they made a loss on 7 billion revenues well I leave u to do the maths . I will sell b4 I'm in too deep and cant sell . Dont wanna get wiped out . There are better opportunities out there. I ask you how many airlines will b left and how many people will want to travel and to where . In some parts of the world the virus is out of control and no means of control . No company is too big to go bust rolls royce went bust in the seventies . Just my own thoughts . I got a lot more but it's all negative so what's the point . I feel for those that got sucked in only 2 weeks ago buying in at 429 goodness me .

Hi Ricky hope you are keeping well. I agree that Rolls Royce has a number of serious issues which it must overcome however, it has been stated by the firm that the new issues with the Trent 1000 will not lead to "mass groundings or any other serious reactions." Furthermore, the company is on track to be single digit aircraft on ground very soon and this news could even be announced on Thursday.
In relation, to the impending trading update I believe that investors will be more focused on how successful the firm has been in reducing its cash burn during the pandemic. These mitigations include the minimising of non-critical capital expenditure projects, sub-contractor costs, etc. We have already seen Warren East take an aggressive approach to reducing the company's cash burn in recent months. It is also important to note that Rolls Royce is an extremely diverse firm. 50% of the firms' revenues do not come from civil aerospace. For example, its defence business has emerged from the current crisis unscathed and Rolls Royce has attained new contracts in recent weeks.
While the company may emerge from this pandemic as a smaller firm I cannot see the share price dropping by 28% to under £2 by Friday. Today, £21 million worth of shares were bought while only £14 million were sold this could be due to an increase in investor confidence in my opinion.
New issue with the trent engines found today . Update due out thursday . Planes on the ground . 47 percent of earnings coming from flying hours mainly long haul .not happening . Massive cash burn . Already looking at share issue possible dilution think this share gonna drop fast could go below 2 pound by friday . It's a critical industry so could b nationalised by the government but difficult times ahead .
