Marstons Pedigree, very nice, long time since I had one.
Sorry lads tetleys for me
Marston, great drink !! Never look at your beer as half empty. Look at it as halfway to your next beer.
One to keep your "spirits up" -
A skeleton walks into a bar. Orders a beer and a mop.
I'm here all week .. ;)
Anyone drinking beer this evening
Please please make it a marstons
Kind regards
See you all ( metaphorically ) next week

Bobbing Along ... !! Keep positive, disappointing though.. thought we had a new level at 1.11 1.12.
Just another blip in the live span of your investment process.
Keep smiling, keep happy and live life to the full.
Sit back, have a beer and watch the match.
Have a good weekend all !
ABsolute rubbish day! I expected a level day or somewhere near. Oh well, il be preparing myself for Monday morning
I guess i should be use to these 5% drop days by now.
i love 'The book of trading - going from being break even to minus 5% down across the portfolio in one day' :).
Just a joke mdmckea; just a joke.
I wish everyone here luck with their investments.
KBYK: It was actually a little more than 50 shares :-)
But that's my concern. I've done OK with this practice so far.
"I sold my entire holdings at 4:15 yesterday for 112p per share. I have such faith in this company that I'm looking to reinvest that cash today and, if the SP is at 108 or below, receive a greater number of shares for it. "
Ahha...it was you! I wondered who was responsible for that 50 share sale at 4:15pm. Assumed a High School's Investment Club, had lost faith in the company. Glad to hear it was you. Let us know when you buy back ...time and everything please.

Unless you really know when the top is and the bottom is the answer is no.
If the share is dumping, example from 127 down to 101 ish…. Then ok. You could have sold at maybe 125 and bought back in at 104.
But the chances are in the normal flux daily type trading the answer is no.
0.5% CGT charge but dealing charge plus spread loss on sale and spread loss on buy….
If you are clever, brave and can half read the future then yes.
If you are human and normal then no.
I sold my entire holdings at 4:15 yesterday for 112p per share. I have such faith in this company that I'm looking to reinvest that cash today and, if the SP is at 108 or below, receive a greater number of shares for it.
As all investors know however, it's almost impossible to time the bottom of the SP. I'll see what 14:30 brings....

Good work on your surviving the critical first year :)
I would suggest a mix of both strategies
Split your funds into managable blocks and most definately protect your capital investments
But
It is essential that you do the ground work first and only work with companies that have a high chance of long term survival
Thats the best I have
Kind regards

All would say, sell high, buy low .. "obvious hay" and most would have liked to have sold wen it spiked at 1.35 ( first vaccine) and brought back in at 0.92, most would have liked to have sold at the spike of 1.27 and brought back in at 1.01, me included, the problem was with both these spikes, especially the second one it felt like a recovery.
We will get a third spike on the sale of ITP etc and I personally will be keeping an eye out for this one.
However I'm also long term so looking for that 2 year growth which I also feel will come.
So do you hold or do you sell and wait (hopefully) for a decent re-entry point, only you can make that choice, however after missing two spikes due to being blinkered around a long term strategy, I think I will be .. as iv said .. keeping an eye on that next spike, and re-consider my position at around the 1.27 mark :) only in my opinion!
So I've only recently been trading since the Covid drop.
Brought in RR quote recently at 101. Thing is I'm sure it will continue to increase of the next couple years but that there will continue to be peaks and drops. So the question is, is it better to sell at peaks and buy back in at drops? I could work out the math of how much it costs to trade ect but just wondering your thoughts.
