Anyone who worked through it.
Onelongrunner, I don't quite follow? Do you mean RM UK being taxed or the general public?
Being exempt from being taxed to pay for it maybe the better option.
Covid created extenuating circumstances and anyone! who worked through it deserves a medal.
Complete garbage Katenip.8.9% of London posties were off sheltering. This was for people with illnesses like Diabetes etc or with very vulnerable family members. You had to prove the reasons why you were off, Dr notes etc and were then placed on furlough. Just over 0.5% of those than took time off to shield took the time off with NO PAY. Others that were off had covid and had to take the time off , many due to the fact that they were knocking doors collecting covid tests from positive customers with little or no PPE. So please don't come on here spouting utter ****zen.
Scampthedog, I think that you are in the right ball park with somewhere between a 4.5% and 5% no strings deal and further talks to follow on the Pathway to Change agreement.
royal mail have just offered 2% no strings attached pay deal this has been rejected.
our central London posties, not RMG parcels, were conspicuous by their absence during pandemic ..over a third elected to stay at home to "shelter". Don't think there's too much support for their striking.
is quite simple: to pay for the posties pay rise.
And does anyone really think that the great British-Public is going to support or have any great amount of sympathy for any one particular group of key-workers, however valued and appreciated their efforts are or have been, for a strike in support of an inflation busting pay increase?
More likely to see that particular group of people as being unrealistic and overly greedy I would have thought.
5%? Yes...perhaps. 9%? Doubtful if the average working person is going to think that's a fair and legitimate demand.
