@ Fruitster.
I do apologise.
Definitely the wrong terminology.
Compounded salary increases would explain it better.
fruit absolute quality reply mate......
oli its impossible to achieve.... take the annual pay rise......and I will tell you why..... even down to 38hrs now they still want the overtime so why is it a big issue?
@ wolvesposty.
Something that we should have got last October and this. As per the four pillars agreement.
If you allow for compound interest over the next 3 years, we will actualy have come out of this with a worse deal. Should it be accepted.
Wolves, I would settle for a one hour reduction with no pay increase as the 2020 "pay deal" any day.
oli you will never see a posty fruit picking mate..... another bad back problem.. with no pay......lol
Fruitster, if changes are made to the UK's immigration policy post Brexit (as reported in the news last night) then any postie's that are made redundant will be able to name their price in a host of other professions as there will be a massive labour shortage.
ispy the reduction in the shorter working week is a payrise alone of...2.5%
i spy the pay offer does concern me.... for one the cwu want the shorter working week... 39hrs down to 35 on same pay plus an annual payrise to boot... equates to @ 4-5% per annum which is great if the company can afford it....well double if not treble the average award. so lets look at the facts! me as a posty can I walk 10% faster... NO... can you operate the machines any faster? NO.. so how does a company afford to reduce hours worked for the same pay??? please enlighten me as I appear very stupid in some eyes...the problem lies with the last ceo who signed the deal off and walked knowing that its someone elses baby now...
Fruitster jog on
After the CWU get backing in the ballot, a deal will be cobbled together of say, 7.5% over 3 years. Shareholders should be concerned, the UKPIL can will just be kicked further down the road. Dividend cut, an absolute given.
Now come on Fruit you can do better than that that is a very poor response very poor indeed
No need for 0 hours contracts, they employ 2 staff for one job, 20 hour contracts!
@ Fruitster.
What world are you living in? There is nothing in that offer that is good. It's underwritten by a clause.
And why would you think a 6%, 3 year pay rise is good? It's lower than inflation.
There will be no compulsory redundancies.
And as for the gig economy and zero hours contracts? If we deliver on plan springs to mind.
@Fruit are you off your rocker? Its nothing like a good offer you still are not with it are you
@ wolvesposty.
I do not disagree with some of what has been stated there.
But surely, as a postie, this piece below, copied and pasted from your original post, must ring alarm bells:
""""Can only afford all of this if we deliver on Plan announced in May 2019.""""
Does this not concern you?
Previously offered a three year pay deal. » Said we would come back to you with detail. Now, we are. Have already shared with CWU.
1. What is happening
» Will not join gig economy. » No compulsory redundancy for frontline operational colleagues. Opportunity to redeploy for those who want and can work for Royal Mail. » No zero hours contracts for permanent employees. » No outsourcing of core Royal Mail operational units. » Maintain current voluntary redundancy terms.
3. Our commitments to you
» Increasingly likely we will lose money in the UK next year. But, proposing a three-year pay deal from 1 April 2020 of six per cent in total for our CWU-grade people. » Means an increase - including first hour of Shorter Working Week - of over 16 per cent between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2023. » Prepared to grant the 2nd hour of the shorter working week. Provided we get what we need to fund it. » Can only afford all of this if we deliver on Plan announced in May 2019. To get there, we need to change more quickly than so far...Will not join gig economy. » No compulsory redundancy for frontline operational colleagues. Opportunity to redeploy for those who want and can work for Royal Mail. » No zero hours contracts for permanent employees. » No outsourcing of core Royal Mail operational units. » Maintain current voluntary redundancy terms.
sounds fair to me.....
