Hiveo thats good to hear and I thought from your comments you certainly knew what you were talking about. As you say some more profitable contracts than others but in my experience if we have a good competitive product our brand does help our sales teams secure business. Some of my friends work in the contract managers (maybe renamed in last couple of years) space and when we speak they do say they are very busy but I guess that is also down to headcount reductions and ever increasing areas to look after. GL
JB I had some involvement in winning quite a few of these contracts a while ago. Margins tend to be quite small but it is better to have the volume than not.
The Post Office one with BFPO is for use of their point of sale system and doesnt cover any of the Royal Mail work on forces Mail and parcels.
Hiveo good to hear about the DWP contract. I looked in a bit more detail on some of the newer ones and some do say new offering and some retender etc. Very difficult to also be able to compare with previous years in terms of our share vs other selected suppliers. I cant see the detail of the Horizon contract for BFPO so not sure of the detail but I thought RMG still handled some of the actual traffic. Still good news if we retain contracts (surely they have a material impact?) and even better if we are winning from competitors. I do find it a bit frustrating that RMG do not have to RNS won or renewed or lost contracts as that would perhaps give more detail. GL
Most of those contracts are just re-awards of contracts that have had to be re-tendered under public procurement rules.
One that stands out is the DWP internal courier service award. This had been held for years by TNT and is one of biggest public sector courier contracts going.
I hope they are making a reasonable margin from it.
Clearly the Horizon contract with BFPO has nothing to do with Royal Mail because it is a Post Office offering.
Still picking up new and shared contracts. Plus another broker upgrade. Ticking along okay until next traffic volumes update.
