Meant Sturgeon ;-$
Sturgess's strategy (and lets face it her party haven't got many other competencies) is to keep the knife to the UK throat, but not to plunge it in. They already have a greater share of Govt spending per head than the UK, and have raised local income tax rates by 2p in the pound above UK rates. Unfortunately most Scots are little better off, or better served.
Whilst no expert I think forced to vote for someone., they hated Labour under Corbyn, took a typically Scottish view of an 'English' under Boris. They could vote for their own Remain party rather than vote for Joe Swinson.
I think Sturgeon knows this is no vote for Independence, but it won't stop her going on about it, or about pretending that it is the Tories stopping her attempting it- all good anti-English rhetoric for domestic consumption North of the Borders.
Most political parties are useless. Let's hope the Tories do more good things than bad in the next few years.
Doubt Scotland will be independent, the SNP had 45% of the vote. GE is a different type of vote.
Well, they could go for it, but it would be suicide for Scotland, I dont think they are that thick.
Now we have a resounding result and this Johnson government will be free of all encumbrances, we should find that the UK agencies involved around support for FID should be able to make their decision now unhindered and without the government having concerns about how it will play in public...hopefully.
It not very often I agree with you Garbled but you make a good piont re scottish inpendence and North sea oil.
this will goahead the only reservation i had was ig Corbyn got in and tried to let the falklands fall under the control of Argentina however Tories need oil revenue afterall the war cost a fortune and needs to be paid for with interest
PS for information is worthwhile bringing Sealion project up in the pubs in Aberdeen and as i understand it then many companies are working on this project right now FID is imminent
Yawn. Bet Nig bought more right at the perfect dip.
When do you think this is going to turn up Nig? What in your opinion will be the catalystic news that will get all the investers back onboard.
Your advise and enlightened comment most welcome.

Ten bagger, cool!
What timescale, could do with around mid January if that’s ok? ??
My current worry is that we are given the go ahead and the SP only goes to the mid 20's. So yes 70% rise but hardly great is it. That is a fraction of what i need.
Yes, I’m down well over 30k in the FI, mostly RKH
Thing is, it was always a binary punt....multi bag or bust, FI oil is not an investment it is a high risk, high reward speculative opportunity.....and, it isn’t over just yet ??
Do you consider yourself a happy person Kurgan?
Kurgy you might be disappointed and there will be a 1/2 p rise tomorrow...lets see ehh? Keep your chin up old chap ;-)
Looks like the bookies were right again....they very often are...more accurate than the normal media predictions. Maybe now we will see some action from UK Export agencies.
yes odds just shortened....
Now 1/3 Tory majority....5/2 Hung
Agreed Goz
Just read turn out looks big....if so bad news for Tories - those odds below could change very quickly.
Gozzie; 1/2 Tory overall majority v. 9/4 for a hung parliament is not a tight market - although it has tightened in last 48 hours (Tories were 1/3 48 hours ago). Of course the bookies might have it wrong...we'll soon know.
I can see where your'e coming from , Ovets but i have a feeling it won't quite work out like that . I suspect that the RKH BOD have realised they dropped an enormous clanger in not having a penalty clause in the original FO agreement with PMO and have therefore placed a clause into their 40% share of payments of the development costs , which , by now must amount to in the region of $200m - $300m . My feeling is that they would recoup all of this effective dead money in the event of a take-out . If they had not had to fork out all of this money , then they would have a much rosier Balance Sheet .
Hey Muztf,
I agree, why would PMO NOT buy out RKH at its current price? FiG have extended the licence to RKH for one more year only, they want this project to get going for all the obvious reasons: Economy, employment and security etc etc.
I would belive that they would have lost confidence in RKH to oversea future field development in the area...would you trust the BoD to move Isobel forward?
They can see PMOs history and if combined with another partner...with the money /securities to fully cover sealion and more.
The smart move is to incorporate RKH's assets (only now its a just acone year licence).
Whats the down side in buying RKH? Comments anyone?
Regards Sft
There has been allegedly some speculation of ChrisOil talking a stock up when actually selling down his holding. You can look at www.*************.com for some past history of comments in this regard.
Frankly I have no idea whether that happened or not, but Chris Oil's twitter feed did seem indicate he had interests in Rockhopper. Whether NigOil or Chris Oil are in anyway related I don't know.
As with anyone on this BB you don't know their identities, their motivations or the veracity of what they say.
Rockhopper's history has sucked a lot of money out of investors, through bad luck, unfortunate market conditions etc, and it would be great if it had a run of luck now. It is well overdue. So in short I hope NigOil and every interested shareholder makes money in the best way possible, which is by positive news on development of the field, and good news on litigation.
Forget Nige and all his (their) false dawns - SL is going to fly, but without RKH. There is hardly anyone who wouldn't want it to go ahead, apart perhaps from Greta Thunberg and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner!
If Boris gets elected with a bit of a majority, Export Credit approval will follow quite quickly, otherwise it will stall and if Lenin gets in (improbable), then forget the whole thing.
EC funding isn't absolutely essential, but is very useful to give other investors confidence and ensure HMG has some "skin in the game".
Otherwise, the next big announcement would probably be about Zama-1 and as Specul8 has said, the final deal could include involvement in the SL project as well.
If that happens, I reckon PMO and ANOther won't want some piffling little outfit like RKH getting under their feet. With the sp so low, they'll take the opportunity to take out RKH, perhaps before any arbitration award is announced, which could otherwise add to their merger/acquisition bill.
Then they'll have pretty much most of the FI Region licences under their direct control and Sam can go and mow his Wiltshire grass, in between polishing his new Merc.
That's just an "Aunt Sally" for everyone to knock about, but I think it has some validity and is hopefully more realistic than Nige's constant waffle and false dawns.
