I'm in the same boat. Trying to find some safe havens for my SIPP. Was attracted to RDS on the basis of strong dividend performance but the exchange rate means at todays money you're looking at 3.84% (assuming 1.88USD/share p.a) which is nothing to shout about. Article 50 who knows. This is long term play i would think. Think your bad at maths mate, 188 / FX ($1.25) is 150p / 2128p = 7% dividend yield😜
FOREIGN DIVIDEND TAX is applied to dividends before being paid to you which stands at 15% for Dutch stocks. Before you invest in companies, you must understand ALL the risks. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/seekingalpha.com/amp/article/4056037-difference-royal-dutch-shell-b-shares Atb
I have 1000 Royal Dutch 'A' held by my broker Jarvis Investmrnt and they have just credited my account with GBP321.75, The dividend is 47 cents per share which equals $470.00 then converted into GBP gives an exchange rate of 1.46076 which cannot be correct. Can somebody please advise me what I should do.
Claymore how much have I saved you so far
I mean look at the price of oil and it's fundamentals. In 5 years time Shell will be luck to trade at a tenner a share
I suppose that's one way of looking at it
How about purchasing no shares to avoid losses?
I currently hold RDS B in my SIPP, I heard that you should buy B ones to avoid dutch tax in the U.K, I've been reading some pension schemes aren't subject to withholding tax. I'm basically asking anyone which would you recommend to hold in a SIPP the B or A ones? Thanks
Than a bear market rally in oil was the warning a few months back. The fundamentals are appalling

Hi I am looking to move my holding into Shell, mainly for the dividends. I recall the massive increase in the share price after Brexit I presume this was due to the fall in the pound. My question is, as someone living the UK what is the impact on the dividends if the pound increase or decreases and what if any will article 50 have on the dividends. Your thoughts/views would be helpful. thank you
The OPEC saga is still going on an I thought this would be a good chance to check the levels in the Co. As you can see on the 4HR the chart is pretty bullish an may test the prev. value area of 2075 after breaking through the 2039 resistance level. Before reaching that target there is a downward trendline from the weekly chart that may cause some problems. If the deal collapses then the supports of 1956.17 and 1929.80 will be in focus. https://uk.tradingview.com/chart/RDSA/6EuGQvmc-Shell-RDSA-LN-during-OPEC-saga/
Any update on chukchi Sea's offshore lease?

Excellent news it appaers this was announced after market close today lets hope Thursdays performance makes up for todays poor performance (2,13%).
If we all get these as a divi payment, who buys them if we sell and cash in are our divis?
Was the drop due to Canadian fires worse than thought or something else. The downgrade doesn't help but surely not the cause.
Apologies for board hopping but- The petition is going quite well; 4100+ signatures so far. Although it really needs a turbo boost. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/112044/sponsors/frRbCOsOLO6QqIN82UOX This petition was stalled in parliament since 12th Aug 15; finally green lit on 12th feb 2016. The FCA don't even reply on the matter, now is your chance to have your say. If you hate seeing buys reported as sells etc!!!!!! Has already been sent to Martin Lewis, Daily Mail, Moneyweek & Watchdog. My local MP supported this petition by writing to the petitions committee to help un-stall it. There’s 650 MP’s in Westminster, So have you written to your MP? 649 to go! If this petition doesn’t reach 10,000; then imo we might as well have not bothered as it will almost certainly be filed B1N; @ 10,000 the government should respond. So – If you haven’t yet signed or indeed have but haven’t passed it on to others, then now’s the time to do so. We really need a social / media savvy individual to help generate more interest in this.
Holding up in USA which should hopefully see a rebound this afternoon fingers crossed. Keep Smilling
Great day for RDS roll on same again tomorrow
What's your take on this ? Good thing or Bad ?
I consider Shell a great buy especially since the BG group takeover RDS are a global big hitter and are a great buy as oil will not always be this price . RDS are a global money making machine paying top dividends . Best Of Luck To All Investors Keep Smilling
Brent Crude up $40.84 a barrel so very puzzling why we see a drop today and yesterday but the market makers make the market if they want an SP up it goes up if they want it down it goes down was it ever thus ? Keep Smilling
