BarkingCrazy....I'm not suggesting that a placing is 'imminent', although on second thoughts the definition of the word 'imminent' for RBD directors can mean within the next 6 months; so perhaps I am.
The SP is not reacting as if a placing is in the offing. You nearly always get a noticeable drop in SP once there is a whiff of a placing .
Claire - I hope that any folk buying in at current prices haven't missed the boat as I 'm hoping for a much higher SP than this in the coming months!
Monarch....I have posted my thoughts over the last few weeks, but not all at once.
However I would add this for your perusal and idea's.
As most know another placing will almost certainly be coming, it's just a matter of when. Will it be before results are out, normally in June or after. This year however the company may take the opportunity to legally delay the annual results announcement by 3 months under the Covid temporary laws.
If this opportunity is taken I am somewhat uncertain as to how this will affect decisions regarding the timing of a placement. But if I was pressed, on balance, I am minded to think the placement would now come before results. I would be more certain of this if Rathlin was not controlled by Reabold. Payments due to the former which 'should' be huge can be delayed, this would not be so easy to do with a totally independent operator
persi promised months ago a detailed overview of what’s going to happen with RBD... it never happened. He then quoted the German news paper „Bild“ as a reputable outlet ...it’s far from it. Not sure why people still believe he has anything of value to add...
Rubey....are you unaware that RBD have controlling interest in Rathlin, and therefore it's immaterial what Rathlin want or need to do. matters are not in their hands.
You have just posted the following
"Similarly, Rathlin won't want to sell too cheaply if they are certain they can get more".
tut tut please be more informed before you post!
The share price rise over the coming weeks will have no impact on the sale price of the licence. That will be the highest price one of the majors is prepared to pay, and I very much doubt they will want Rathlin to milk the potential for all it's worth. Similarly, Rathlin won't want to sell too cheaply if they are certain they can get more. For me the key word is certain. Couple this with multiple potential buyers, and Rathlin are in a very strong position to sell 'at the best price and right moment in time' once the short-term tests are completed and a CPR is put together based on these and the mass of previous results they already have. So in my opinion EWTs on WNB-1 and WNA-2 may well not be necessary.
Just my opinion.
I think so too, Heid.
Rubey: "The 'raptor' and the VSP survey will establish the extent of the West Newton oil field. I think the right moment in time may be before the EWT."
I guess the more we prove up the area, the higher the price may go, so you could have a point there for any buyer. That would be a Wow-Wee moment if that RNS surprised us all.
I have always thought it would go to EWT, so let's see.
Not long to go now though. Very exciting times.
There may well be people here with ulterior motives...but so what, what a waste of time that would be. WN will get an EWT eventually no matter how negative or positive this message board is!
No matter how Persimmon's posts make you feel, they do make posts that show some insight into the goings on of RBD and the history of the company.
Rubey - I don't recognise what you say about RBD shareholders making more money - as far as I've experienced it, it's been pretty stagnant for a year or longer now (aside from the last few days). I wish I shared your blind confidence about making money in RBD but I live in hope.
There's no reason that I can see why any company would sell the large 183 licence before they have fully found out what's on the whole estate rather than at a couple of points on it, unless of course they were completely incompetent / had no desire to maximise value or had a barnstorming offer from a third party. There is plenty of other exploratory wells after the A/B and C/D (yet to be permitted) to be drilled before they hit the crock of gold.
Very difficult, CM. I am amazed that the share price is still below 1p.
I still think the licence will be sold before too long. The company have said that the focus for Reabold is monetisation at the best price and right moment in time. The 'raptor' and the VSP survey will establish the extent of the West Newton oil field. I think the right moment in time may be before the EWT.
What price are you thinking Rubey as a base before EWT?
'large dose of skepticism'
That's a silly thing to say. He's not sceptical. He knows it will be a great success. That's what he's afraid of and why he posts here - because he hates the idea of RBD shareholders making money, and whether you like me saying it or not, we're soon to be making a lot more. So stick that up your analytical anus and smoke it.
There's too many bunny huggers (as HRH would have said) posting on this bulletin board pretending to be shareholders.
You would have validity in your post if he actually posted like that but he doesn't. That's not his tact, his rhetoric or his tune. Just a nuisance and we learn now an old has been.
There is always risk to any investment. "Be aware the value of your investments can go down as well as up"
We are adult investors not children so leave it there.
Ps multiple monkiers are not allowed under LSE rules
Personally, I'd much rather they take persimmon's large dose of skepticism on board than follow blindly the ramping here - multibagger etc.
Claire - here is a completely unsubstantiated quote from you "I remember very well the ride to 1.40 which will be nothing compared to what is coming".
At least persimmon might make people think again about what is, as always, a risky investment. Making it sound like the success of WN is nailed on is just purely irresponsible.
Exactly. Didn't mean to over post about it BUT it is essential to make new investors aware. Many are sadly swayed more by what is on BBS rather than what is in front of them via RNS and news enroute...
Well old Persi doesnt affect me. I added to my holding. I do my research and I know West Newton is very special coupled with the plans in the region :

I don't think he's ever been a trader, deemule. As you said the other day, he's a sociopath, but I suspect with a little bit of sadism thrown in.
The best rise in share price for a long time, and he posts 'The Lord giveth, and the Lord......'
Dan, at one time he was having conversations with his other avatars, and got in a bit of a muddle!
I have used the filter button. Works for me.
That's right Rubey. Another point to note for any new investor reading this board, post recommendations can be a redherring, trying to enforce an opinion by using multiple accounts and voting up their own posts. His posts seem to get 1-2 recommendations, now who on this board is giving them? Like others have said, don't give the guy airtime.
This Guy is just a trader, he buys on the dips and attempts to sell on the highs.
Just ignore him, he’s an evil cvnt lacking any morals, who likes to get under people’s skin.
Giantpeach, I said to Mrs Rubey a couple of days ago, that so many people have been driven away from posting on the Reabold bulletin board because of one particular person, that he is now posting anything he likes, almost completely unchallenged. He's like a pig in shlt. So personally I'm pleased his nasty little comments are pointed out for what they are. Nasty little comments designed to play with people's minds and sow the seeds of doubt and worry, with the aim of getting them to sell their shares. I wonder how often it works.
It's a sad state of affairs really.
I cant help but think if you all stopped giving him the time of day
the thread would be so much better, just stop playing his game.
I visit this forum to hopefully read some informative posts but all I read
is persi this or persi that its endless boredom.
