all ifs and buts maybes or not at this stage, but one thing i couldnt do is ramp there is nothing to ramp about this one at the min in all honesty victory is 2 years away and alot can happen in that time i think its clear W-N has run into other problems and they running out of money soon, best you can hope for is i move to other holding and try to get better deals there with actual returns likely..this one is a dead duck for at least 2 years if i do go in.
Not far to go now, flatearther, before you will see your 2good2miss with a .1 in front. Will u then turn ramper or, perhaps we will be fortunate and see the last of you.
ill highlight again what they should have done
what rathlin should have said and done from the start is what ever the amount they planned on giving commit 10% of that regardless of agreement on planning and offer the 90% should planning be agreed
then it becomes an incentive and not blackmail imo.

@2bfair the imply was just trying to be nice,
your problem with the understanding of blackmail is with the concept of the money value and how pressure is asserted
the money value being extorted is the planning when you say "Rathlin are not demanding payment or another benefit from the council" your wrong the fund will only happen if planning is granted true or false?? answer that one.
your are viewing blackmail from a very limited one side of the coin view blackmail can be applied in many ways, i mean you say it yourself "Rathlin will pay into a community fund I-F they get planning permission the key point why it is blackmail is the fact if they do not do the planning agreement the will be no fund. so it is not an incentive it is a either /or
nice try but i feel deep down you know im right
What Rathlin are really doing is addressing this 'conditional community fund offer' to the mugwump councillors.
It is they who they hope will be persuaded to go along with Rathlin's 'free gift', thereby hoping that the majority of the councillor's voting constituents will vote for them in the future.
A first stage procedural win win for Rathlin if they get enough councillors on board.
Flatearther - I didn't try to imply that you didn’t know what blackmail is, there was no “imply” about it. I stated that you don’t know what blackmail is. And you don’t.
Rathlin will pay into a community fund if they get planning permission - you do something that makes us money, we will pay you some of that money. It’s an incentive to approve, a straightforward transaction. You call this “pretty much the defection of blackmail”. I will assume you mean definition. This is the actual definition of blackmail
“the action, treated as a criminal offence, of demanding payment or another benefit from someone in return for not revealing compromising or damaging information about them”
Rathlin are not demanding payment or another benefit from the council, it is Rathlin that is offering pay the council! There is no compromising information involved. You could not be more wrong.
@ugly if the convo looks to be above pre-school level you really shouldn't engage even if it is on a bb.
now no running in the class room
flatearther, if you post on a BB it becomes everyone on here´s business you fool. I make the assumption you struggle to attain an IQ in double figures so jog on.
ugly@ well he did try to imply i didnt know what blackmail was, yet it seem's he was the one not to know, and as this is nothing to do with you(unless that is your other account) then id say mind your own.
flatearther, the only person who is uneducated is you although I guess most of the people who visit this BB know that already.
No, thery shouldn't. Rathlin are the operator.
@2bfair imo it is blackmail as it is dependant on planning its not a fund that goes ahead if planning not granted therefor imo it is blackmail, grant planning and get fund or no planning no fund its pretty much the defection of blackmail. others may soften it to bride or sweetner but if the end result is as above then imo its still blackmail. be interested how you see the incentive?? how dose the incentive work with out planning?? ill await your uneducated response
Shouldn't RBD and UJO also be offering something? A brand new swimming pool, or 50,000 conifers or something? Let's really get those councillors onside. But we should stop short of a new sports car of their choice, as may not look too good if the press get hold of. Lol.
It's a 'sweetener' (bribe) to try to persuade councillors who are undecided to vote in the affirmative for any necessary planning to go ahead.
Flatearther - I don’t think you know what blackmail is. The community fund is an incentive, you could call it a bribe if you really want - but it is quite obviously not blackmail. Look it up.
we all know about the community (blackmail imo) fund, begin dependant of agreement to planning, only difference is its not in the mins but was in the letter. its their stated position
Rathlin have posted minutes from a Community Liaison Committee meeting held on 9th September. Which includes the operations update. Thought this bit interesting;
Rathlin are proposing implementation of a community fund which in the past they have always said they would do when the project gets close to to the point of commercial production.
