Also they wisely negotiated that rent from open shops and concessions will be paid base on sales which is very clever IMHO.
With restrictions starting to ease and events starting to take place with increasing numbers you can realistically expect much higher spending on special occasions clothes, something that QUIZ traditionally were very popular.
Certainly looking promising with the "return " of Xmas this year......
Of course recovery will take time but the real growth you have to look for is the online sales which are doing well ....spending is going to decrease after the closure of many shops (only very few successful ones will be left to operate....)
And overall the business will be shifting to online.....looking very encouraging indeed, and the market seems happy enough....:-)
Look at thee 2019 figures for a proper comparison. "Growth" is always going to be phenomenal using 2020 comparisons.
Tiny market cap. What an RNS! Sales growth phenomenal
Very encouraging TU....as expected much improved turnover compared with last year severely impacted one during lockdown....cash position is also better, so hopefully although still not anywhere where it used to be things are starting to look to settle on the upside.
Long way to recovery has to start sometime and it looks that way.....

"Online trading across all sectors is declining as more and more people travel to shops" "Trade picking up everywhere as we gradually come out of lockdown" !
QUIZ....
Plans to create a breakaway European Super League have collapsed after most of the football clubs involved said they would quit the controversial project.
On Wednesday, Italy’s AC Milan and Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid of Spain said they would no longer participate, a day after Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all announced they would withdraw from the proposed new league.
@cwebb - the "end of lockdown" sentiment is too strong here.
the shops are now open pal.
Most PIs, I assume figured out that during lockdown was 1 story - i.e. No one wants social wear whilst watching netflix in their living room - that's the past....and after lockdown after story.
Despite this drop in revenues in the year, reflecting tight cost control, the Group has retained a net cash balance of £1.5 million at 31 March 2021 (comprising a cash balance of £4.2 million offset by a £2.7 million drawdown of available bank facilities). The Group has a total of £3.5 million of bank and credit facilities available to it which are scheduled for renewal in October 2021. There are no financial covenants applicable to these facilities.
Recent Business Developments
Following the proactive actions taken by QUIZ during FY 2021 to address its physical retail estate and lease terms and further to the re-opening of non-essential retail in England and Wales on Monday 12 April 2021, the status of the Group's stores and concessions are as follows: link

Time to draw a line over last year pandemic backlash....surely matters can only get better now, hopefully cash reserves will be enough to support the business until growth is resumed.
Understandably not pretty results - since who is going to dress up at home.
PJ's / leisurewear have been plat du jour
However, with end of lockdown - seeing friends + corporate events + gatherings on the cards soon - social wear will be needed - particularly if customers sadly like me have - uhummmm have had a bit too many snacks during lockdown.
typo - "bought" below should say "brought" !
Horrendous update today mind you
The major family shareholders know what they are doing - they have bought a company out of the woods before in the Financial Crisis in 2008/9 and sold off for mega multiples a few years later. They are very well versed.
I reckon it's going to be a very positive year for them with staycation, pent up demand for social occasions.
Expensive rents released from, mainly online now. Going to go up up and away this year.
Cristina...QUIZ
....thry ssid in their lsdt update that online sales are going well.....
Online soar but what about Quiz?
ASOS showed a 250% profit so if Quiz bucks the trend then we can look forward to a great financial update. This has given my eXpectations a positive lift for QUIZ this year!
