AKHM use the filter it works really well
Depends upon the model.
The most common models used particually on cruise ships and even on some drilling rigs were the Wartsila Vassa 32 & 46, although there is now a newer more efficient model the Wartsila 31
Ah, AKHM, have you not noticed that it is only when the share price nutates, that the wobblers come out in force? And can I ask, what is the size of the Wartsila engine on test?
My word what has happened to this forum. Quadrise are the closest they have been to a commercial contract ever and have 3 or 4 possible positive outcomes. And yet we have to listen to people on here talking out of their backside. So many twisted opinions. The rot appears to have spread from the futura medical forum. Could even be the same people I Guess.
I assume you are referring to Ruudowen & Phibatec.
Can't see them being overjoyed ATM no.
Does anybody know their averages?
I wonder if MK has received any irate phone calls from our IIs as the SP continues to tank. It's fine for them to ignore us plebs pleas for further information or updates but these guys will be wanting to know wtf is going on!!!!
Hi Tidetime, didn’t see your post. Yes for a complete LONO it does require 4000 hours. However, as in the maersk scenario, an interim LONO will give MSC a clear steer how things are going. They could decide that things are very good and essentially start the roll out process whilst LONO completes, remember it’s an engine manufacturer requirement to do 4000 hours but operators can choose to begin other works prior to issue of LONO if they believe it’s going well and crucially they have plans to use the fuel in their fleet. We shall see what transpires.
Yep, gotta be 4000.
Twice.
Last week I asked if the 4000 hours needed to test a new oil for an LONO to be issued was set in stone, but received no opinion in reply. Was it a silly question? I thought that if engine manufacturers could evaluate wear after fewer hours....

Haven't we got the solution sitting in front of us? Feels like we're heading in the right direction but knowing QFIs track record even when we've got the right market for it we'll probably never get a signed done deal!
