All very logical roadmap.
I have confidence that the relevant finance can be raised. However step 1 is a prerequisite in this chicken and egg situation. Until the minister is pressurised by his government partners to prioritise energy security and supply this will be static. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael as the main parties in government ought to stand up and stop unconstitutional and obstructive delays to Barryroe, to Corrib gas and to the two LNG projects in Munster. It is a complete environmental policy paradox that sleepy is happy to see huge energy wasted in importing necessary energy. Reduce the carbon footprint and get indigenous energy.
Ironically in the centenary of 1922 the government don’t seem to follow the free state’s example of self sufficiency in a self governing Ireland
It’s over forty years, forty years since it was discovered and It really makes one think what have they being doing all along and why am I involved at all!
How many of those steps each need approvals that Sleepy Ryan's department will take a year or more to approve? How many need money that PVR haven't got? Have to laugh, thinking of the RNS last April *AFTER* the SpotOn deal fell through, telling us confidently that: "work to progress the funding solution is well advanced and is expected to be concluded before the end of the third quarter, in time to progress a 2022 drilling programme". Even in a GOOD scenario that has now slipped by four years. Some people were shocked back in 2020 when Linn announced that drilling wouldn't be until 2022/23. Turns out that was insanely optimistic. Even 2026 sounds optimistic, given PVR have shown absolutely zero ability to attract finance for so many years.
The next steps are as follows (including recruit CEO).
(1) Secure the Lease Undertaking.
(2) Complete the current Barryroe technical and commercial evaluations.
(3) Finalise the Board's review process, currently anticipated to confirm a
recommendation to drill an appraisal well to substantially reduce subsurface
uncertainties.
(4) Secure funding for the appraisal programme.
(5) Plan the appraisal well in detail, contract a suitable rig and execute the drilling
and appraisal data acquisition programme.
(6) Progress work on the conceptual designs for development wells and facilities.
(7) Analyse the appraisal data and progress the selection amongst post-appraisal
development options to an appropriate conclusion.
