But presumably production in Mexico much further off than Pure in Canada?
Well, I got to the bottom of the rise in the Chesapeake Gold price: Eric Sprott has just taken a 16% stake.
They're sitting on 18M oz of gold & 500M oz of silver. Do the maths at the current prices. They have AISCs of <$500 p/oz & their market cap is just $400M. If gold rises just $100, that adds more than 4x their current market cap to the value of their reserves.
Eyes wide open now :O
Gold price, around $ 2050

50 000 oz at $1200 profit per oz is not a bad deal at all.
Not bothered that it hasn’t risen. Just profit taking from those smart enough to be in early imo. I posted same at GRL where I was a little concerned but like here reading back through the RNS’s and looking at the chart helps contextualise.
I would add here at these levels if I could but money tied up atm. Hoping to trade out elsewhere and when I do you can be sure this will be +130!
Still this is genuinely a longer term play for me as long as the newsflow keeps ticking along nicely.

Lacklustre I think because not in production yet. This is responding more to exploration news.
One year production target only 50,000 ounces.
I expect share will move with more discoveries, in the short term.
Catch up to good price may have to wait.
However, share moves in straight lines when it does so timing the next rise is difficult.
BTB nice to know someone else shares my sentiment. I guess this will re-rate eventually, but I am a little disappointed having only recently invested here (couple of weeks) and currently below my entry price. Glad I didn't put much in, as my money is working harder elsewhere at the minute. Fully intend to buy more, but not until I see some upward momentum. I expect this will jump rather than rise?
That being up 20% in five weeks would be "disappointing"??? I'm rather embarrassed to say it, but with PMs soaring, despite a great run from late March to the end of June (when I bought-in at £1.02), we've really lagged the rest of the sector since then. Across the pond, Chesapeake Gold was up almost 20% yesterday alone, & whilst that's not typical of my portfolio, the likes of Gold Mining Inc, Centerra Gold & Coeur Mining were all up over 8% yesterday.
Given that the bulk of the move in the PMs price occurred AFTER the UK market closed, & that it's up AGAIN overnight, I was expecting us to fly this-morning like **** off a stick!
Why so lacklustre?
