My Broker is Hsbc … they stopped the selling of Poly at the moment ( you can check ) very surprised as most Uk brokers allow selling …
So this reduces the number of sellers , and should push the price of Poly up up …
Does anyone else use Hsbc as a broker … they allowed people to keep buying for a long time into the war .. now stop both buying and selling .. they should allow selling !
You'd obviously be over the moon
Imho Poly are going nowhere. This illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine will only make Ukraine wanting to take back Crimea and Donbas (I sure as hell would if it were my country!) There is no way on earth Putin would willingly and peacefully lose face like that. Putin could get assassinated or die and that would change things here, but I don't think the world will be that lucky! It is unwise to blindly believe that this is not the case and Poly will soon be smelling of roses! LOL
All brokers allow selling, some don't allow buying. Carltt stop spreading BS. HL and ii both allow buying.

This is the thread today of a Poly ramper (CR888) confirming he cannot currently trade Poly.
A lot of blind lemmings on this BB.
I will take no pleasure not if, but when this slow car crash of an investment fails here.
Offered 2.18 for for £80k worth
42 Trades
10.5k Buys
32k Sells
Totally inaccurate I know, but the volume is so so low after a four hour session.
What's happening? Brokers must be really slamming the brakes on in here.
Good thing about this stock is that. Russian assets are valued at ZERO. So they are free. KAzak is undervalued by 1-4 pounds a share. So there is deep value there. They litterally mine gold out of the ground so as long as its 1800usd an ounce and they can keep selling it then any change in the geopolitical situation will see this share rocket. Especially if brokers allow buying and we are put back on the FTSE indexes.
I have 45k shares and 30k in cash to sit out the worlds problems in relative peace.
Winter is coming and Russia will not survive the winter in Ukraine.
Smile everyone its going to be a good day.
:)

“Poly is not down “
You literally missed my point about a Poly ramper CR888 getting KO’d…
Is that also fake news to you?
Poly is not down
The real spread is 2.17 to sell and 2.23 to buy ...
chique
Turn the red flag 'green', it's much easier.
All the best
Carlt
Please make realistic comments if you want to make a point - you make no sense
More red flags.
Tygra, another fear of the banks is class action down the line. A lot of the so called scandals boil down to expecting banks to nurse every transaction of every individual with the individual not seeming to need any level of responsibility for their actions. So I am not too surprised at the erring on the side of caution to 'protect'investors from themselves with anything connected with Russia and POG simply served to underline the cautionary principle. For people who can accept responsibility, it is a pain of course, especially if you are ISA investing which means incurring cost moving the ISA.
CR888
Whoever your broker is it could be an error on their part. If they prevent complete trading in a share it's an internal decision and one that needs to be communicated to shareholders. Barclays did this on EUA a couple of weeks ago quoting 'sanctions' that don't even exist. A lot of holders were locked out of buying/selling for a number of days and were given various different reasons from different departments when calling the bank, none of which were correct.
It was a shambles which Barclays 'quietly' rectified and then allowed full trading again with no apologies or explanation (they are a large bank, they can do what they want, hence the many financial scandals with a Barclays name attached). Having assets in Russia now means UK financial institutions are scouring ever changing sanctions legislation and getting trigger happy when they have any doubts.
The people working in 'sanctions teams' are run off their feet and clearly mistakes are being made. These people aren't international lawyers in their 40s and 50s with years of experience, they are bank workers who've been moved from elsewhere in the operation to take on this new burden with zero experience and very little effective leadership. My cousin's wife has put in her notice with a large US investment bank because of the way her manager has handled this new 'sanctions team'.
In a nutshell mate, depending on your broker, one of their 'sanctions team' might've pushed out a document with POLY's name on it and a 'computer says no' next to it with no legal basis for doing so. It might work itself out, or they might actually just look across their stocks with assets in Russia and decide it's easier to not allow any trading and then advise holders to move their shares to a broker who isn't a virtue signalling hypocrite.
I know a few of the posters on the EUA board stated they will be closing their Barclays accounts on the back of what they did, so hopefully more people vote with their feet. Hargreaves Lansdown (so far) haven't restricted trading in any stocks with assets in Russia that aren't currently suspended. Hopefully it stays that way and even with their slightly higher fees for certain accounts, I think they will do well out of this by their actions thus far.
After all, these 'sanctions' are supposed to be hurting Russia aren't they? Not sure how Malcolm in Chipping Norton not being able to buy POLY shares in his UK broker account weakens Russia's war effort. Maybe I'm missing something, or maybe this was part of the 'plan' all along.
All the best mate.
Which broker?. Jarvis still OK
RIP
Polymetal is not allowed to be bought or sold on my UK broker account ( I can understand not buying restriction, but not selling is new ?)?
Until recently I could sell Poly .. now not allowed ?
