What you need to understand is that it's not tariffs that count but good companies. If you can innovate you can sell. Everything boils down to science, vision and innovation. The assumption that a trading block has some economic advantage is nonsense.
So Brexit is now almost certain, but what next? UK has value valley in creating Commonwealth Economic Block, not just in trading with CommonWealth. Its glass half full or even empty.
UK, INdia, Pakistan, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Bangladesh and more, worlds biggest block can emerge, 70 to 80 years project with trillions of dollars transactions. They will not need to trade with anyone else.
The only two things that swung the vote was Corbyn being a twat and people sick of Brexit being sabotaged
In the state s the swamp demonrats have been constantly claiming Putin influenced the 2016 election.......how, I have still yet to find out how.
I never said you did I just wanted to put the Putin nonsense into perspective..
This is what putin said after the referendum..
Vladimir Putin has warned that the “traumatic effect” of Britain’s vote to leave the European Union will last a long time.
“What I would like to stress in this respect is that Brexit is the choice Britain’s people have made and we have not and will not interfere in this process,” the Russian President told a meeting of ambassadors and envoys.
“However, we will follow these developments closely of course, follow the talks between London and Brussels and the potential consequences for Europe and for all of us.
“It is clear that this referendum’s traumatic effect will make itself felt for a long time yet. We will see how they all put democratic principles into practice.” the Independent..
''We will see how they all put democratic principles into practice.”
So far we have offered Brussels a good deal that sees us still paying into the EU even after paying for the past 3 years 6 months and saying we'll cough up a further £39 billion.. no mention of the £33 billion we handed over to bail out the euro in 2011-12?? And will the EU still get one sixth of our Foreign Aid budget??
A sixth of the money spent by the Department for International Development (DfID) goes straight to the European Union’s aid programme; '' http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9560326/British-still-giving-hundreds-of-millions-of-pounds-in-aid-to-wealthy-countries.html .... it is understandable why cameron was so keen to increase Foreign Aid.. to give the EU more cash thru DfID's back door!
I didn't say Putin rigged the referendum. Since the collapse of communism Russia and the West (in particular the EU and Nato) have developed an uneasy, adversarial relationship. I think a historic opportunity for rapprochement was missed in the 1990's, but we are where we are.
We have a populist president in the US busily undermining Nato, Britain breaking away from the EU, and Scotland - which houses the UK's nuclear deterrent and makes a more than substantial contribution to the manpower of the armed services - potentially breaking away from the UK.
If you are Putin, what's not to like.
Wessex? If we are fantasising my preference would be for London to become an independent city state. Let the Shires and the North have their independence.
Putin..
''The received wisdom in the Brexit debate is that Russian President Vladimir Putin is in favor of Britain leaving the EU. Politicians of all shades, from Hilary Benn to Prime Minister David Cameron, have brought up the spectre of Putin to argue the case for voting Remain on June 23.
As received wisdoms go, this seems one of the least controversial claims in the Brexit debate.
But is it actually true?
If you search Putin’s speeches or official statements since the official announcement of the British referendum in February 2016, you won’t find any mention of it.'' 6/16/16

And from reuters..
November 15, 2017 LONDON (Reuters) - Russian Twitter accounts posted almost 45,000 messages about Brexit in the 48 hours around last year’s referendum in an attempt to sow discord during the vote on whether to leave the European Union, the Times newspaper reported on Wednesday.
''The research tracked 156,252 Russian accounts that mentioned #Brexit, including one, Svetal1972 which posted 92 tweets between June 20 and 24, including one calling for Britain to“make June the 23rd our Independence Day”.
As thats the only quote I guess that that was the most pro Brexit comment on Twitter?
Svetal1972 ...“make June the 23rd our Independence Day”.
And that swung the vote?
And Scotland leaving would result one less layer of government & bureaucrats to be paid for..instead of the EU, the Scottish Parliament, The Westminster parliament and various local governments.. too many chiefs not enough indians springs to mind!
Meanwhile ''Freedom for Wessex''!
Since we are off topic here is my tuppence worth. This is a great result for Putin. Brexit weakens the EU, Scottish secession - assuming it happens - weakens the UK.
