Yep, used to hold POG & Aricom, back around 2008, CofE,.....decided, now, might be a good time, to have a gold miner (POG), back in my share portfolio.
Odd you mention petrel (PET), facester,....I have put, some of my PET profits, into POG (bought 65,000 POG shares), on the back of that RNS ( https://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail/POG/14394747.html ).

"By holding the short they keep earning the interest (less some small funding cost on the shorts) and know that they have already 'sold' their stock for a guaranteed profit."
Whoever lent them the shares to short sell may want them back before then. I suppose they can cover this by converting the bonds they hold.
Perfectly put RB, this is exactly the reason for the Polygon short. They don’t want or need the SP to go down and won’t benefit from that
TheDonofDons, seems you one of the newer arrivals to the POG bb.
As was articulated a few weeks ago, one of the much more plausible reasons for the Polygon short ... indeed for them increasing their short position as the price rises is that they are locking in profits on the shares they will get at 10.7p under the terms of the convertible bonds which they most likely hold. Right now they earn 8.25% on the bonds and can convert into shares at any time upto 2022.
By holding the short they keep earning the interest (less some small funding cost on the shorts) and know that they have already 'sold' their stock for a guaranteed profit.
Hedge funds don't always get right .
CofE well done on your average and being so precise with the figures. Personally if I had been as confident as you seemed to be 9 and if I had the money ) I would have bought lower. But even at a price of 16p there should be plenty profit on that batch as well as long as POG delivers.
Dear rustybucket, I have been adding yearly since 2015. Hold an average of 8.782811102p a share to be accurate. This increased today with my £2,600.00 purchase. I waited to see if the gains held. Plus was not shaken out today.
COFE if it was such a great company, as you have been preaching for months, why wait till 16p to add ???? when you could have addid in single figures ?? Or, did you not have the courage of your own convictions
Jeepers I didn't expect it to keep rising today. I have quite a lot already so I haven't added.
I started a month earlier x1550 at £1.39 but i bought quite a lot more in 2013 & 2014
Hi Lauwrence, as I remember you went to the agm, do you plan to go this year (in the light of the current trend) even if there is no coup d'Etat ?
Feb 2010 at £928-18 for me. Looking back to my surprise I was doing quite a good of trading it back then which I had completely forgotten about. My mistake was thinking the start of the slide was a blip. Having participated in the 5p raise I feel like I've been in my own version of The Long Walk Back, but see this as a hold now. If the GP keeps going we could seriously eat into the debt this year and maybe 2021 even a dividend play again.
My first deal was 8.5k shares at £1.03 but following lots of additional buying I am now averaged at 8.6p. So onwards and upwards I hope!!
Mine started May 2013 when I purchased 8,472 at £135.18 each total spend £11,522.86
Ha ha...yes you're right. That always happens when a share has a good few days. But they have no clue about the company they are apparently 'invested'.
My journey with this started late 2014 and early 2015. Been adding each year as things improved.
Yes I was only joking too Face, I've also noticed a few slippery fish I recognise from elsewhere who will be ramping like hell and then no doubt undergo a sentiment transplant overnight.
So is anyone adding?
Think 8 years qualifies as long term ??. Compared to newbies who will be now day trading this. No beef....we're all in this together!
Yeah i know that crumble. Was a very simplistic point of how a company can be valued at anything when they dont have any revenue. Or in fact any solid assets unlike pog.
In the nicest possible way Facester if you bought in at £1 you are not a long term holder :) okay I'll give you LTH just not a genuine long term sufferer.
Facester - Making comparisons just by share price is wrong , wrong, wrong. You need to look at market capitalisation ( ie number of shares in issue times share price ). POG has an Mcap miles higher than any of those companies you mention .
Iam a long term holder...bought in at £1 thinking it was oversold. Went thru the rights issue pain. Have traded since and now back in profit. Ive thought this was undervalued for last few years as pog has addressed its problems. There are other companies out there which have had recent valuations of 20pps...futura, petrel and pantheon to name a few. They dont even have any revenue let alone profit!! The stock market confuses the heck out of me! But very happy atm
On it’s up and going up. Is anyone adding today? This is going 20-30p soon. Still not even considering selling a single share.
