Scotland will inevitably become independent within 5-10 years, and Ireland will re-unite. It's an inescapable consequence of the rise of English nationalism.
Post Brexit Britain will be reduce to a rump of Wales and England. It will be the final chapter in the end-of-empire story.
I wouldn't confuse a vote for the SNP as a vote for independence. The SNP to be fair have make some difference at the local level and also there is an anti English Tory sentiment. But I think another referendum will produce the same result as last time because people don't change overnight on these issues of identity. It was the same with the remainers. They thought the voters were duped or misinformed. But in the end, when asked again they said the same thing.
Don't forget the rotten mess the Scottish banks (RBS & BoS) made in 2007, having to be bailed out by English taxpayers.
It would be interesting to see if if breaking up the most successful union in the world (until the USA took that title) would be of more benefit to the rest of the UK than the Scots. My own view is that an independent Scotland could be a disaster for both sides, and only a benefit for Scottish politicians . I wonder why the SNP is so keen to exit the UK, but remain in the basket case EU. Perhaps they misguidedly think the handouts would be greater.
Must be allowed, even helped along the way to leave the UK..
Scottish politicicians have been a disaster for this country...
most recently Blair , Brown & (David William Donald) Cameron. Then look at the non PMs.. Darling, lamont, Fox, Fallon, the list goes on...
2015 election
Scotish Nats 56 seats ..... 1,454,436 VOTES 4.7% 56 MPs
UK Ind Party 1 seat..... ..............3,881,099 VOTES 12.6% 1 MP
The scots must not be allowed so much representation within parliament while voting for SNP MPs and then staying in the UK reaping billions of pounds in subsidies. An independent Scotland WITH their own Scottish Pound can thrive.
And the same goes for the N Irish.
I'd suggest that any Irish or Scot wishing to migrate to England would be made welcome.
