But biomass is a joke, right! The idea that it contributes to a long-term reduction in carbon dioxide levels is a product of clever accounting of the Enron variety. And it results in enormous damage to the environment through converting diverse countryside to mono-culture plantations.
Im with Alfamale if the deal buys x number of barrels and Premier are able to make a decent profit on each barrel then providing Premier get back more in profit than the original purchase price then this is a good deal.
Yes oil consumption is probably going to slowly decline but can you really see us all driving electric cars in 10-15 years?
Currently, most hydrogen is produced from fossil fuels, specifically natural gas. Electricity—from the grid or from renewable sources such as wind, solar, geothermal, or biomass—is also currently used to produce hydrogen. In the longer term, solar energy and biomass can be used more directly to generate hydrogen.
Electrolysis is very energy intensive, so good luck scaling up renewables to do the job well enough to produce enough hydrogen to power transport across the planet any time in the near future.
In the meantime, 95% of hydrogen is produced as a by-product of the oil industry. That's a lot of oil that still needs to be produced and refined. What are they gonna do with all that oil? Just store it?!!
Electrolysis of water. Hydrogen consumes energy to manufacture, and is mostly done at the moment by burning fossil fuels, however, renewables could also do the job once they are scaled up.
Anyone know where hydrogen comes from? lol
Correction. BMW produced a duel fuel 7 series and liquid hydrogen Mini Cooper way back in 2005.. I was part of DfTs Chief Scientist's Unit then working on the Hydrogen agenda. It's the way you establish the infrastructure. Fuel cell vehicles like the London bus trial in the early 2000s used the same filling system. Liquid hydrogen burns very similarly and is stored similarly to lpg.
Where does hydrogen come from, folks?
That's a rhetorical question.
Absolutely.. you can run a petrol car on liquid hydrogen the same as you do lpg. It lends itself to a much more graduated transition.
Agreed hydrogen is the future, also because the infrastructure is alot more adaptable to provide it to market aswell, i do think that could be rolled out quicker than we think but oils good for 10 years imo.
Downs, OPEC have said they are putting a floor in at $40 and I believe they will succeed
Electric never will replace oil. The UK government doesn't even support electric in their transport strategy (aside being a secondary energy source for urban commuting)It's less sustainable than oil and certainly has a greater impact on the environment - for example current demand from Tesla outstrips global cobalt supply by 200% - there goes the entire Congo . DfT see hydrogen as the most likely primary energy source for the future.. some 20years away. Oil is with us for a good while longer yet :-)
"And, Alfa, they are not new fields."
Sssshhh!
thats my girl. BIG push now. lets see $39 by mid-day. you can do it!!
This is being held in a range aswell, RockRose was for weeks and now look, bought out for a bargain, I think a bid might just be a real possibility here. 70p is my guess

Idk how ppl think that electric is there to replace oil right away lol, average UK salary 27k new basic ****ty electric car £30k Add interest and add ons... ppl cant afford rents nevermind new electric cars... i think it will take 8-10 years before we see electric being normal.
come on Olivia attack that $39 level!!
SK,
Hand-me-downs is how the oil business works. You should know this already.
The assets will also enable PMO to use some of their 4 billion of tax credits, so any production from the new fields should be largely tax free. I'd say that is adding value to the business.
Ferret,
Any fund raise will be buying tangible, producing assets which will enhance the value of the business.
It should be a net positive, despite more shares being issued.
time will tell - me neither as TD usually takes the complex route and screws it up - lets hope this time not - but dillution is never good - we wil see
timing ? maybe better get out and done soon now when so mcuh bad news anyhow, it cant hurt or ?
Ho Ho SK - yes i agree on that my friend.
What i was trying to get my head around is how the BOD will appraoch this and the extent of dillution on raise etc?
whats the substance / reason behind your fall to mid 30's DBNO ?
thats SP i refer to not oil price.
very bad here if mid 30s don't hold.
