Thanks bransonbull.
You made me panic into selling this today.
Dbno you miss the boat.........
Somebody was selling big chunks of shares after hours last night, who might have got some news from the company? I am afraid it will drift down in the next couple of days as the result does not indicate any positive news in the near future. It may change if it will get an order soon. If in profit, better take it or hold for the medium term
" current assets minus current liabilities 2020 - leaves $42 million"
Shareholder Equity value on the books down to £309m ( US$433 million) at 2020 year end... from today's report page 78
Not really, I still have all my holdings here, considering I bought in the 90s..
But pipeline is a problem for me for 2021. Will see how Q2 goes for Petrofac.
current assets minus current liabilities 2019 - leaves $1.026 billion
current assets minus current liabilities 2020 - leaves $42 million
there is the real impact right there.
Slift has sold again...
I just got some at 122.52, thks MM.
Can see this slip further on bad pipeline and outlook.
Not as much as some would want, but holding shouldn't be painful.
Cracking set of results...kept most, sold some yday, bought them all back already. Great liquidity, nice move into green energy, refinancing no longer an issue, cost savings ahead, etc. Wait for the presentation with analysts.....same happened TLW. Once results out of way, in the coming days, big boys will be buying.
The Net Profit attributable to Petrofac shareholders ( before the impairments ) was actually - US$48 million
Around the sector and energy sector in general there has been quite a lot of impairments reported in 2020 - the impairments affect the equity value of the business of course but are mostly book related non-cash write downs
I think most is expected so 135 is where I’d guess
We don’t know how the market will react.
I have seen good results and bad reaction and vice versa.
Lets hope is a good reaction.
I believe all the MMs & Fund Managers tuned in here today to get CHRI55 take first before trading today
CHRI55 why did you buy this stock in the 90s make good profit as you put it and then tell us all you might be back in after results after you sold ? Your not the brightest are you pal all your posts are here for everyone to see ???
Chri55 shows up... What a surprise. Just the same as what he was like on MCRO, but once he realised he had completely missed the boat on that one he’s now nowhere to be seen. Even MCRO had a loss of 3 billion but still the sp has rocketed since. These kind of results are already well and truly priced in, why do you think the sp is as low as it is you fool?
huge writedowns. ugly day ahead.
CHRI55 I feel happy as I can be and it’s MY money not yours
So sell up & go find a other hole
Good luck with your short
It’s funny how some are saying the shorts have increased. 0.10 increase vs 4.5 decrease in a short amount of time :))
Outlook :
" We expect late 2021 to mark the start of a sustained recovery period for the industry, with a return to pre-2020 CAPEX spend levels by 2023.
To support this ambition, the Group has a diverse tendering pipeline of around US$20 billion of opportunities scheduled for award by the end of 2021 and US$34 billion of opportunities due for award in 2022.
Sami Iskander, the Group today announces a refreshed strategy, focused on three pillars: best-in-class delivery, returning to growth and superior returns.
We are targeting significant growth in new energy markets, leveraging the sophisticated and transferable skill-set we have developed in oil and gas, and building on the success we have had to date in new energies markets, such as offshore wind.
By 2025, we expect our total annual addressable markets to increase significantly from around US$70 billion today to around $100 billion, including around $20 billion in new energies (comprising offshore wind, CCUS, hydrogen and waste-to-energy/fuels).
We are targeting a return to generating premium margins, consistently over the medium term."
He seems to be talking it down to justify his sell.....best to ignore. The markets will do what they will

CHRI55
"No wonder shorts were increasing their positions and talking about 80p??"
Shorts 6th April-9.35%
Shorts today-4.32%
Chri55, Yes I am more than happy to keep my investment untouched. I have a longer investment strategy than most people here so am absolutely comfortable.
The results are as expected. That is the key. In line with sector performance.
You are clearly on a different strategy. Rather than insult each others choices, why don't we just wait and see?
ATB
His jealous rage continues. How much you lost on LOOP this week son??? eejit
Actually see this as positive- more green work; bigger market in future with wind energy a key consideration; higher margins ; lower costs and no obstacles once SFO matter finalised which they are working on. Finances are in middle of what was expected but future looks much brighter - I think it will be deemed neutral as no debt issues and the future is about growth. Slight rise
