Iraq unveils details for new bidding rounds
In an effort to attract foreign investors to its upcoming licensing rounds, the Oil Ministry is adding more projects and better contractual terms.
KATE DOURIAN AND STAFF OF IRAQ OIL REPORT
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST, 2023
Iraq’s Oil Ministry is expanding its plans to open up new acreage to foreign investors and has sweetened contractual terms in the hope of enticing international energy companies back into its upstream oil and gas sector.
The ministry had already been planning to offer 24 investment opportunities across two upcoming contract auctions, but is now adding six more. The so-called "five-plus" bidding round now includes 16 projects, and the sixth bidding round now includes 14 opportunities, according to an Oil Ministry promotional document given to international oil companies (IOCs) and obtained by Iraq Oil Report.
What’s your point?
Ireland is not part of NATO, has hardly any military and considers itself neutral
Very interesting article blue-bottle, at long last we have the truth about what’s really going on in Iraq and not the avalanche of lies coming from this company designed solely to suck in more mug punters.
This time next year 1pence. GLA. DYOR. IMO.
Brent oil at 90.8 is completely immaterial if you’re not producing any.
Brent oil 90.8
Should tick up tomorrow I’d say. Buy on Rumor sell
On News !
Inshallah …….
On announcement of the involvement of Tamraz & Co it shot to 25p!
That was without any specific development confirmation
From ADVFN:
On a deal they will be giving £2.35p
yes mate- you share a valid point. and i hope petrel resources is a big enough player to be awarded such a contract-
this is where doubt lies- when you have big boys such as total in play all wanting a piece of the action- anyway with such a small market cap 2.46 mill. any whiff of something might move this but i know this company and they really have ***** footed around for too long....i have no clue what jt and dh do with their time .
Agreed, they are an explorer but they have always had a long held desire, in connection with Merjan, to become a producer, especially if PSA's are on the table.
The licence they have applied for with Merjan is to DEVELOP it. It is an already discovered field, so no exploration required. :)
But pet. Is an explorer. Not a producer.
Then again PET could see some of this...
"...Al-Halbousi noted that more contracts would be signed in the near future in western Iraq...".
GOOD NEWS for total....
Not sure if PET will be seeing any of this......?
I’m glad to hear people with similar sentiment .
All new investors be careful. Otherwise you could be rogered. Us long term holders have no option to hold due to big paper losses. Don’t get rogered by DH and JT -
Have no clue what their game is. Let’s see.
Been here many years. Through the SVS debacle, and watched it trickle away whilst ITI capital kept us waiting for more than a year. Don't put the kibosh on it now that it is showing signs of life!!!
Agree 100% this share is all about sucking in new mug punters again and again and again.
Absolute cowboys who should be behind bars.
Tell them…… you see new investors have no clue. They will be drawn in and soon enough their pants will be down.
Shambles of a company
Botswana diamonds, which is part of the same group as petrel announced yesterday that it had switched its nominated financial advisor. So they’re simply following the course.
If you’re thinking of investing here be very very careful . . . PET is a perennial dog.
Something's going on... good news coming, I reckon.
A financial advisor. Any significance I wonder …..? Could be interesting.
I’ve been here some 25 years following this company.
Tread very carefully
Nope of course I didn’t because I thought they would go higher! Why did you …..? It was probably one of the first companies that ℹ invented in. So was abit naive I guess.
Well of course I wish I had. Anyway I added more 4/5 years back after the Tamarz debacle around 8p. Let’s see what happens here - but come on for how many years have we been hearing this that and the other… the same tune. Hopefully it will be different. But I don’t think DH Carry’s much clout. They will award contracts to big companies not AIM listed small exploration companies. I hope I eat my words.
