That's interesing re. Barclays, Ryan. Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you mate, I’ll probably be best contacting them too
Imagine it would be after the 9 month lock-in as this is when the shares would be effectively transferred to your account.
Will contact them to see what they say.
That kinda sucks. Would that be cash value when listed or after the lock-in? Could be a big difference.
Hi Joelever,
I am in exactly the same position as you..
After researching this a little while ago when the talk of spin offs came in place I contacted them (which was pretty useless as they just asked for an RNS) but then found a similar example of a Siemens de merger. In this scenario (about a year ago) they paid the cash value of the shares as a dividend as they couldn’t transfer them. They did mention they were working on this and hoped to get this resolved in the near future.
Worst case scenario I imagine after 9 months we will get the cash value as a dividend, but I will contact them to see now the RNS is live and the shares have been allocated (with the 9 month lockin/hold at the house broker)
From reading other boards I believe that some people have had a problem with Trading212 regarding spin off shares. I don’t think Trading212 will accept the shares but instead will give you their cash worth instead.
Yeah, same here. I'm with Barclays and nothing regarding POLB.
TBH, I'ld be surprised if there was anything before the nine months are up.
Joellever - I know nothing about trading212 but I'm with Hargreaves Lansdown and no sign of my allocation there. I'm not worried by that and I don't think you need be worried either.
Hi All,
I wanted to query as to whether anyone is in the same position as me. I am a young investor and personally I don’t believe my portfolio is of size yet to justify a paid for broker. Therefore, I use trading212 which definitely has it negatives being a free broker however, at this stage I believe its benefits outweigh its negatives. One of my friends who uses a reputable paid for broker (II) has already received his notification on the allocation of poolbeg shares however, I haven’t received anything as of yet and I’m worried with trading212 being a smaller free broker, if I even will?! Does anyone else use trading212? If so, are you optimistic we will receive our shares in the new entities or have you already received notification of them?
Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
