Ah ha. The upside is very attractive and has a [good] chance.
We agree on that
Have a good weekend too
Sorry for what, holding OMI and being asked the reason why I hold giving it??? It has nothing to do with your current position, purchase price or amount owned, and excuse percentages. Quite simply if the share price is 18p as now, and if I think 1p and £1 are equally likely then one has an equal chance of making 82p or losing 17p. That seems a good gamble to me or anyone. Why do you want an apology for that reasoning do explain and have a lovely weekend without any maths! All the best
Err.... Nope, not even a little bit. Sorry.
If you are gonna use % terms you have to start with the current position and take that as 100% for it to make any sense at all (which, given the explanation below, am only assuming you set at 20p???)
Which maybe means you are trying to say you can lose 95% or gain 400%? If it goes to 1p or £1 respectively?
Either way, no maths lessons on friday night
But at least you werent saying 1p is 80% likely, i suppose...
Lets leave it there
Jwoz I was saying my reason for holding is that for me 1p and £1 are equally likely but if that is the case I have an equal chance of making 80p or losing 20p on each share, so 80% chance of making money v 20% losing it so no brainier to stay in as long as don’t mind that chance of losing a little to make a lot, if that makes sense
Sot - genuine question. Please can you briefly articulate your base case / rationale for how on earth you see OMI going back to 1p from here, and that being 80% likely.
Its friday night and im looking forward to this.
Sotolo- Please feel free to send me anything you may wish to, incl correspondence with Salazar. My email id is bhargav66@hotmail.com
As you may have notice, not many here are amused by your constant "balancing act" as you think you're offering here (?).
In a quiet, especially, Covid delay or news absence or radio silence days, SP can have its phases of ups and downs.......
even more so on AIM junior miners....GGP had the same, after the drill.........between 1.5p-1.8p and it took only one more drill results and directors purchase to turn it around....we've far greater potential than that here imo. Your constant and rather warped posts don't support the fundamentals and potential which we've in store of current Anza project and I can and have elaborate that many times here. At the end, its a highly speculative stock which has high risk but much greater odds of greater rewards imo and no one investing here without their own research or giving a thought.
I rarely ever filter anyone, unless they get too nasty, you and webbs are not in that category (and I've my flaws too for sure)...rest, I try to take some entertaining value out of it, if nothing else...its ok, get us going whilst in waiting. I suppose.
GL though, as I say this to all LTHs like myself here.
What else do you want Bhargav, my correspondence with Salazar, how I had 1.1m, how I sold a bit over half to make a £70k tax loss when I sold my company, how I rued that when the price turned up, those I sold a little above 40 but bought back around 30 so far too soon and tied some more. I reckon I must have 50 contract notes over many years but if you post your email I’ll send you a copy of the first. Loads more if you want, I am glad you find my ineptitude over the years entertaining. Overall tho I am now around £50k up on current lot so 2/3rds the way to breaking even on this 17yr rollercoaster, wouldn’t miss it for the world even if it gives much misery and all the funny rampers who think they can believe or post the shares up when it is finding lots of gold that is economical to mine that will do that or not. Lol
I don't often post on here.
but i am LTH and i truly believe we have something special here.
as we go into second half of the year the news flow will increase and expect the share price to follow this .
we know from previous drills there is god dam gold in them hills.
it quite simples really with 2 majors and one is expert in the area.
additional two rigs added because in my opinion the Geologists saw something that truly lead them to believe the core samples were hot....these guys know there stuff and wouldnt ask for more drilling to be fastracked without some excellent intial finding...by year end and more regular news flow, we will be a very positive area thats for sure.
lol..is right
650k shares, 5% of portfolio, bought a few at 300p, invested here for 20 yrs?.........It is getting more and more entertaining, if anything else :)
Sotolo, I’ve finally filtered you. You’ve been invested here for 76 years but never said one positive thing about OMI. You also believe the price of gold does not affect the share price of a gold explorer. Cya.
DRYLAND, I still have about 650k Omi, but it is the 5% of my portfolio I use for pure speculation, I believe it could go either way but if £1 is 20% and 1p 80% are likely, the gamble is worth it as choice of making 6 fold or losing it. I just try to explain why it is following the down route and it just annoys me how many are drawn in here with important savings thinking the price ‘should’ be higher when it isn’t because of the reasons I point out to try to balance the argument. Of course I as much as anyone hope it will soar, but think falsely optimistic posts are ultimately as bad for the share price as falsely optimistic management ones as just contribute to the pump and dump that hits small and somewhat innocent savers at the expense of the pros. All the best
@sotolo anyone looking at your posting history would think you aren't invested here or if you are it's for a pittance and you couldn't care less. Constant negative posts...not that I am a fan of the opposite either but you really take the biscuit and imo should be ignored.
Jwoz ,eth hit a new ath today . ;)
Yes mine news Is often delayed but why promise news at Easter just before Easter, why not promise then there isn’t disappointment when it doesn’t come, which is as you say not unusual, then share price doesn’t fall as much; all I am saying is the board could manage expectations much better, rather than promising too soon
Sotolo, for someone who constantly criticises ‘ramping’ on this board, your repetitive inane posting is getting tiresome.
In the last couple of weeks you have added zero objective value.
For someone who proclaims to have held for decades, you now you complain because an RNS from a mining company is delayed by a few weeks (shock horror!) you come across as naive- or perhaps you just find the negative in every situation .
The company has clearly explained why there is a delay. Perhaps just chill out a bit and let it play out a bit. A few more weeks after decades of holding won’t hurt, will it...
I invested in Uruguay minerals as OMI they was, ticker UGY, because they were mining cheap gold in Uruguay only it turned out to get more and more expensive till the mine went bust. I hold on out of amusement as yet another spinning MD runs the show. However how can he announce positives when there aren’t any just now, as far as I see it he is already over promising as Salazar did, and he keeps promising an rns soon but it doesn’t come and when it does is less than spectacular. Newmont and Agnico may have a wealth of experience but all they have done is put a very few chips on Orosur at great odds, along with a few chips on plenty of others, they only need one or two to win and they too have little idea if this one turns out feasible, nor does it matter, it is a cheap exploration punt for them. For the likes of us it is a great and amusing gamble that could as easily seee 100p as return to a penny stock.
It does seem such a long time since any good news has materialised here. And so typically the sp will follow a downwards trend. Wonder when OMI will provide some positives here. At some point some decent news will be released by OMI and things will liven back up in an instant catching many out. Just have to go to basics and consider the players involved and the wealth of knowledge and experience they have. They are in it for big rewards so just a long drawn out waiting game but it will come eventually
no news => SP drift
people begin to second guess themselves
bearish posts appear, shareholders try to justify their sales by getting other to agree / recommend their posts
still no news - 'can't be good news' / 'is it as good as I thought it could be?' thoughts chip away at confidence
SP goes down on small volume.
It's easy to have SP drift in these conditions. To maintain confidence go back to fundamentals - what's ACTUALLY changed since last RNS? WHY did you first invest in the company? What has changed? Anything?
Stay Strong!
The BTC cliff edge may well be nigh....... something told me when it hit 60 the first time that might be it.. that was before all the recent news that's kicked it hard in the nuts! 20% down since last week and not looking good
Absolutely jwoz, there are a couple on here that like to talk like they are knowledgeable about the subject matter, regularly proving that is not the case with their clueless posting content. Simple advise to them, maybe study the precious metal sector a little more, take a deeper look at where we are, the history, what is going on around us currently, taking all factors into account, including where the price of gold is, and where it is likely going, so as to get a get handle on exactly why we have these two huge players with us, pushing the project forward. Newmont sold up and moved on from Buritica, walked away from Newmont after much assessment, but joined us in proving up Anza. I have done my research, and there is no where else i would rather put my money at this time
Still trying to get my head around the fact that a company who are out there in elephant country exploring for, and actively drilling for, gold apparently won't be affected by the actual price of gold. Mind literally blown. It's good that these boards can be so educational at times.
Sotolo, we are actually 3% up on today due to yesterdays ut closing.
just added another 30k...
