You are missing the point. So what if antibodies last 3 months. There's the window to assess that you've had it so you need to check regularly. The T cells may be what is giving us longer lasting immunity and the T cells have a relationship with antibodies. If you are exposed again the immune memory stimulates antibody proteins again even if you had a mild version. Listen to the podcast from Professor Eileen Riley from Edinburgh university, also on the Guardian. Not one single verified example worldwide of anyone getting it twice. 13 million people have had it. It's now rising at it's fastest rate, 1 million a week.
Governments want us back at work because all the official forecasts for unemployment are getting worse. This is what we have. By the time there's a vaccine ODX will be a different beast. Bought out is my guess. Either way they will be on the map as a world leader in diagnostics.
The common cold can be caused by 4 corona viruses and rhino viruses I beleive.
Correct me if I'm wrong but:
Vaccines take a long time to develop if they ever can develop something for this with any success. You can't just inject millions of people with something not knowing what medium to longer term effects might be and how different peoplew may react despite trying to fast track it and many people may not want it. Personally I don't see the worry about a vaccine negating the need for antibody testing. Everyone will want one - I would. Provided it's validated it seems intuitive to me that we will sell all that can be produced.
In terms of shorter term gains there's validation in just over 2 weeks scheduled and the inevitable orders afterwards with greater gains in the medium to long term as the OP suggests.
Avaccine for the common cold is being worked on as immunity does exist.
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-havent-we-cured-the-common-cold-yet/
The problem with the Cold is the large number of strain in circulation which is not the case for Covid 19
Exactly Woodstock, antigen testing needed on a mass scale.
As I said. Form an investment strategy around what the Guardian says at your peril.
As for Spain, they’ve used the cheapo rubbish Chinese tests that have been rejected everywhere else.
The Spanish are motivated to milk Covid for all its worth because they are pushing Brussels for massive bailouts. They’ve just instigated a policy of mandatory mask wearing in all outside spaces in Murcia and other regions. Masks have been obligatory in shops in Spain for months. They’re pushing the fear factor constantly. I know I live there.
Lots of media propaganda and political agendas around all this. I’ve made a judgement that it’s bull sheet, and am sticking with that strategy.
Antibodies are providing at least six months of immunity to reinfection thus far and will undoubtedly provide ongoing resistance. That’s why there are now programs of antibody plasma transfusions for infected patients.
Not going to argue any more about it. Gov strategy is there on the websites and I’ve got mine and nothing’s changed for me.
GLA DYOR.
Long story short, the common cold cannot be cured. Unfortunately Sars Covic 19 replicates the common cold. We,are fuked comes to mind.
Testing is our only way forward.
Good to see you back on the board PDMSPiper.
To be fair given where the raise was this looks a bargain now. I’ll leave it and leave you guys to it and hope they’re wrong re antibodies. Best of luck and I’m sure there’ll be a decent bounce due to presentation etc.!
Once the world moves away from antibody testing we will 2 months after! Look at antigen testing, care homes, masks. We’re very slow to react but will.
Presentation later will be positive
Nothing we don't already know will pop up. May be some good news on the mologic side.
A confirmation that their projections are all PER WEEK will be made. Because WE KNOW they have increased capacity specifically for this. The placings were to increase capacity PER WEEK. When that's confirmed, once AGAIN, i think it will add to it and those who run away will come back.
How can you even question capacity when they dropped 1 part of their business just to increase capacity??????????????????????? In their words, to EXPLOIT the opportunity?
Projections for future is ALL depending on sales. With ODX being a unique test kit NO ONE in the world has and in high demand, we can all assume they will sell in millions.
A great entry price for newbies. my avg is much higher and i'm not worried. #ALLabouttheproduct
Just look on the Gov antibody test TPP page where it says “Target Population”.
Last updated 10th July. What does it say?....
“Target population
Desired: people who need to know that they are immune to SARS CoV-2
Acceptable: people who may have recovered from suspected or confirmed SARS CoV-2 infection or may have previously developed an asymptomatic infection”

Nothing has changed in relation to antibodies and our immune systems either. Unless we have suddenly evolved into another species with some other mechanism to protect us from disease.
The scientists knocking it are most likely doing so to push for funding for their own research. Scientists largely say what they are paid to say or whatever benefits them and newspapers like the Guardian will publish it because they know immunity and antibody testing is gov strategy and they’ll push anything that gives this government a hard time, same with many of the other rags and same with the BBC.
Construct an investment strategy around what the media says at your peril!!!
For all their bashing and shouting not one media outlet globally has managed to bring forward a verified case of reinfection. Don’t you think if Terry from Tyneside had caught it twice he’d be on the front page of the daily mirror in a flash, or even Bert from Bombay. They are frantically searching for a verified reinfection globally. It would be a massive scoop. Headline news. There aren’t any.
Gov policy on mass antibody testing is still assuming that antibodies provide immunity. It’s there on the gov website, clear as day, on a page that was updated as recently as 10th June.
Nothing’s changed with regard to gov strategy on antibodies and immunity. Nothing.
But things are changing and fundamentally all the time. Unless one has invested here in CD4 etc and not Covid then not a lot has changed but given the evolving state of play due to knowledge and research fresh info will impact the investment case. Do antibodies last, can someone still catch the virus when they have antibodies (yes many studies say) and they can pass on without symptoms so are antibody tests as significant as initially thought? That’s the question. I believe ODX is working on a much more difficult antigen test and if so fair enough.
I’ve known ODX for years and am not currently invested but I took years from initial CD4 prototype due to many design changes to finally launching. Anyway, let’s see. Hopefully more studies come out re antibodies but many think it’s like the common cold so antibody tests are near to pointless.
Sentiment will change, it's inevitable.
Agreed.. keep calm and carry on. The bounce will come. We need good news now, which is incoming. ;)
When you buy into an investment strategy like Omega and Covid testing, if you’ve done research you should fully understand that you are buying into a story.
In order for full value to be attained you have to hold the stock to allow the story to play out.
I can’t understand the mentality of people who are whining, moaning and selling out in a huff when the story is only on the first chapter. We haven’t even had the start of the mass antibody testing program as detailed in the five pillar strategy and that’s what you bought in for surely? That’s what I bought in for. That’s what we’ve been discussing all along. It’s yet to happen but it undoubtedly will. It’s there on the gov strategy website.
If people don’t want to wait for forecast events to come to fruition then there isn’t much to be done. Your call.
I didn’t even think there was anything wrong with yesterday’s RNS. A load of whining about nothing. It was obvious that the numbers talked about are weekly. The Mologic Elisa test production target is 46,000 units per week. All the numbers in the presentation are per week.
Happy to hold to let the full story play out. Not expecting anything new from the presentation tonight. I won’t even be watching it. I’ve listened to the presentation on the website and am happy with it. This is just for whining investors who have been complying they need “reassurance” or something to help them “keep faith”, like it’s the fkn moonies. Lol @ the knobbers.
Holding for £300mill Mcap and the conclusion of the strategy. Meanwhile, going out for a nice lunch. Happy days :)
Legin252... Your post is the most sensible post of the day.... its like a needle in the haystack with all the trolls here today...
I am not one for starting threads, but reading the various messages and opinions I just wanted to state the clear and unequivocal stance from the business, as stated by Colin King.
That is “nothing has fundamentally changed” in terms of affecting the SP.
When you analyse and research from a business perspective, Omega are in an incredibly strong position and are about to have an excellent and exciting year ahead. This is such a huge opportunity that should bring profitable returns for business and reward for shareholders.
It is therefore no good looking for the pot of gold today or tomorrow, it is a 6 to 12 month journey minimum.
I believe if you have invested here for immediate return you will be filled with disappointment, and it’s no good posting negative messages about lack of return, that’s the reality of your strategy.
Hold, research and follow the business strategy, and your expectation of return will be in tune with the business.
