Okehurst - One thought on the pricing.... at the time of the Finncap note, they would have been guessing at a selling price to the consumer, expecting there would be high competition and perhaps most sales to export low income countries. There is more evidence now of what is achievable, and these products are starting to find a price range, and currently the competition of quality tests available is nowhere near what you might have expected with several of them failing to meet standards. So it may well be that the economics are looking much better than first thought. But there are always layers between the producer and consumer eating away at profit.
ODX is an UK engineering success story, LTH have nothing to worry about, even if Colin confirms the profit per RTC/ Visitect test is only slightly above 75p each we will still make a decent profit based on volume.
I am particularly interested - as many of us are - who is enjoying the balance of income off the commercial sales which are being marketed at £16 ( RTC) to £19( Visitect) - still not confirmed UK Government price.
Ok we are getting a couple of quid gross a test but it doesn’t seem much for our engineering skills/ expertise/ capital expenditure funded recently by shareholders, it’s fair comment if the sale price to our Government is lower and dictating our own margins but on the commercial sales?
Hopefully Colin explains all next week.
i'd assume 4d wont go over £1.10 the merger price which is where it was a week or 2 ago. anyway back to odx
Regulator and Symbol. This is what frustrates me the most is that we have a solid product but it isn't in the news or anything. Our esteemed government is throwing money at other people and then finding out the product is not as good as their snake oil sales team told them. I am not selling a single ODX and holding until Christmas before I make a decision. I can see a lot of day traders getting finger burnt over at 4D.
"Greg -nobody in their right mind would be selling odx to buy 4d. Their Rns is only a proposal , our vitals are a lot more solid with much more potential. Our price may go up or down today but 4d will have nothing to do with it."
Some of the 10%ers might, given the merger RNS. They'll think making a quick 10-17p per share (depending on what happens with 4D shares when the market opens this morning ) will be worth it.
And in so doing, they'll potentially miss the opportunity that ODX offers. It's the usual short-sighted 10%er behaviour - but it's their money...
