From 30th April RNS 'The DHSC have recently stated that they are in the process of assessing which of these tests are suitable for home-use and thus can obtain the appropriate self-test approval. Once a suitable test has been approved the DHSC will license the test for Omega to manufacture. Omega is not in control of this process but will provide a further update once a test is confirmed. Whilst waiting to receive this confirmation, Omega is currently supporting the Government with additional cassetting and pouching services for other COVID-19 antigen lateral flow tests that are being deployed in the UK.' I assume GAD are in similar position. If we are supplying products for another company presumably there isn't the same urgency to get a confirmed test for us.... We will be making some profit from this but I assume not what we could be getting from the full contract. Probably a similar margin but on a part product.
Yes, well said. Mologic etc already has the required CE mark and many investors here are extremely short on reseach. What is now required of Mologic and a.n.others is to acquire phase 3a validation at the Cov't establishment at Porton Down. As of 4th May there are 18 tests on this list which have passed. ODX could be making some of these lft tests too, as some are UK based companies.
@blubutton - If there is a combined S plus N test it will be Avacta & Mologic's test as they are the only ones collaborating on that as far as we know and they own the IPR, see Avacata RNS 8th February 2021 (already another 3 months gone by since then).
It's clear ODX will manufacturer whatever the DHSC tell them to, which will be in parallel with them making and selling the current Mologic Antigen test via the Vistec Brand (N only). I'm quite sure though that should the combined S plus N test eventually become the sovereign test both ODX & GAD will be told to make that test, UK Gov have a contract to that effect and the equipment loaned by them so they will call the shots. Others may also be roped in, e.g. SureScreen, Abingdon, BBI, if UK Gov want more capacity.
"Mologic will announce CE mark for their LFT test early this week and may give a bit more info about any sales or partnership agreements for manufacturing their tests".
Mologic have already CE marked the LFT and so have Omega. Three people agreeing with you shows there are a lot of misinformed people invested in this share. It's no wonder 90% of people lose their money investing in stocks and shares.
Amended- I am not convinced that it will be the Avacta test and not even sure that their test is one being assessed by PT. Avacta already have comercial partnerships with Mologic which obviously includes GAD. AVACT CEO also stated last month that they were also talking to other undisclosed UK manufacturers to produce their test for sale in Europe - probably ODX???. Trying to second guess who's test is going to be the sovereign test and who will manufacture it is near impossible. All should hopefully become clearer over the next couple of days. AVACTA will announce CE mark for their LFT test early this week and may give a bit more info about any sales or partnership agreements for manufacturing their tests. We may also see something from ODX tomorrow morning clarifying the situation - hopefully by RNS and not another ambiguous, if well meaning tweet by the night shift YTS apprentice.

Thanks blubutton. I think my reservation about Avacta (and I hold shares there also) is that no matter the merits of Affimers they don't have a PHE validated test nor CE marking nor anything on the market yet. Smith has waffled much and promised much but has missed deadline after deadline.
Actually I think what the UK Gov are looking for is a combined S plus N test to get the best sensitivity and best coverage against ever changing variants possible (S mutates more than N I believe), though whether they can get the two to work together reliably is yet to be demonstrated.
Either way we know ODX will be manufacturing the tests and has a locked and loaded contract, just need to get the ODX tweeter re-deployed to the production line.
interesting your theory on the risk hedge angle on the test, suppose question has to be why would you go against a 100% test that Avacta claim, and i suppose this is what the testing and massive delay is now, will be interesting to FINALLY hear from Porton Down as to what is happening.
I've looked through the contracts and I don't think anyone can be sure who the Test Developer is based on those contracts alone. Can't even be sure there won't be more than one, i.e. GAD manufactuers one test and Omega the other, UK Gov/DHSC may be hedging here. Have to remember that these contracts are now 2 months old and things have moved on since then.
However if it were the Avacta test I would have thought Omega and Avacta would already be in some form of collaboration agreement, but we've had no notification about that which I would have thought we would have got wind of by now.
The main differences between the GAD contract and the ODX one is that Mologic are named for GAD, simply I think because they are going to do some of the support work that Omega will do itself, probably something around ISO accredidation.
GAD also have a named, but redacted, sub-contractor specified so I guess they are also going to have part of the manufacturer sub-contracted out to someone DHSC have approved but that Omega will do that part itself so it's not needed in the ODX contract.
PS: Oh yes and I agree ODX should pack it in with silly tweets, it's all looking very amateurish to be honest and doesn't play well in a pandemic situation when we've been waiting over a year now for decent orders.
PPS: For me the Scots can have their independance if they wish (I have some Scottish lineage and Welsh and Irish BTW so I don't give a chuff about nationalistic garbage) as long as the clearly Anglophoebic Nicky Krankie and the Scottish Nasty Party is banned from English TV for ever and we get to keep Stuart Hogg south of the border.
