Some paranoid people about here. I’ll get my coat although I was trying to start an interesting discussion which in the end I did.
Jeez
I was I’ll end March beginning April , fever , slight breathing problems felt like flu, had a antibody test whic was positive for sars-COVID ,so I had COVID virus when I was ill , happy days,
Pretty sure you had Covid
I am in the same position however I was ill in mid December after meeting up with friends in london, 2 of whom had returned from China. I was bed bound for 3 days, and it took me around 3 weeks to clear the cough. could not taste or smell a thing. Like others I assume it was just a nasty bug, but i would be very interested in taking an antibody test to find out
“Possibly too late now to have any antibodies but would have been good to know“
Chuggley; It isn’t too late. It’s only a few months ago. Take a home antibody test when they’re available and see. Latest science is saying Antibody immunity/resistance could be anything from 6 months to 2 years but obviously it’s a very new strain of virus so they won’t know for certain for years to come.
That’s why they’ll test whole populations and monitor those that have antibodies every few months with another test to see if we still have antibodies because they will need to build a picture of antibodies and immunity.
They can only do that by mass testing. Currently it’s all guesswork based on how we react to other similar Coronaviruses and extrapolation based on small sample sizes.
Both myself and my wife (me first then wife) were very ill in Early March. I was in bed for a week and wife 4 days. Very bad cough - just thought it was a really bad cold or perhaps mild flu - not bad enough to call for medical help but very unpleasant. Maybe it was maybe it wasnt - but i know of lots of people that were similar around the same time give or take 2 weeks. Possibly too late now to have any antibodies but would have been good to know - would probably still check if a decent home test were available
That was another thought and why I stated “most likely have no antibodies” It would be very interesting if an Omega test returned positive!
Trift..... you can’t trust an Abbot test IMO...
your.....
Thanks for tour response Elon and for putting me right a bit.
You probably haven’t had Covid then have you. You’ve had a chest infection.
I had a chest infection last year that turned into bronchitis and I had to get antibiotics.
You’re obviously trying to infer that not everybody who gets Covid has antibodies and so Antibody testing is useless. Yawn. Yeah whatever. The whole RTC is just a waste of time. Get ya. Ok. Next.
In case anyone is interested, I experienced a severe Cytokine storm in early February (very unpleasant indeed). Covid was not at the forefront of the doctors mind back then so he packed me off to Tesco's to get some ibuprofen. Mistakenly, I took double the recommended dose for 24 hours and within 48 hours was right as rain apart from some lingering discomfort in chest / ribcage.
Having learnt more about covid / cytokine over the next few months I took an Abbot antibody test that returned negative.
In short, I believe that I contracted Covid, recovered with anti inflammatories and 4 months later most likely have no antibodies.
Any thoughts on this with any relevance to Omega would be welcome.
