If you pay your taxes then you do do what you are told to do by the establishment. What a hero
"...your agenda here sticks out like a sore thumb. "
Yeah... I really don't want people to be infected, hospitalised, develop long Covid or die unnecessarily. I don't want people putting my friends, colleagues and family at risk.
Gosh - I'm such a ba5tard!
I do pay my taxes yes. Regulator, by no means which you mask your vocabulary to make the reply sound erudite, your agenda here sticks out like a sore thumb. It's okay to be a sheep.
Not a normal poster on this thread ...but take exception at response to those who dont have the vaccine ....
1/ i hope all those who have/dont have vaccine evaluate the pros and cons ..yes pros and cons
2/ present vaccines in uk have 3 months poss 6 months antibody generation ,,what happens in june when those had 1st round are due second ? how many times can we have the vaccine injected
3/ as with all vaccines refinement happens over years ,,maybe in a year or two we have developed a vaccine ..1 shot ,total protection,no pass on of virus ,permanent protection...but hears a thought ,those that have been injected with current vaccines cant tolerate new vaccine ? that is a possibility .so testing is around ,but saying its not reasonable to refuse the "jab" now but having evaluated everything decide to wait for future jabs is just as unreasonable ..( J & J are all ready developing a one shot vaccine ), its not just having any" jab" But the right "jab" . Dont we all want the best treatment ?

Do you pay your taxes?
"'covidiot' - Someone who doesn't do as they're told by the establishment."
No - a 'covidiot' is the sort of person who thinks that their 'learning' from social media outweighs the preponderance of established and emerging clinical and scientific evidence. There is often a strong correlation with right-wing, selfish attitudes.
'covidiot' - Someone who doesn't do as they're told by the establishment.
itshenderz - well said.
And there it is, easy as that.
Anyone who declines a vaccine should also decline treatment putting hospital staff lives at risk if they catch the virus.
"RegulatorUK, from what I gather from your political views (Omega aside) you're a very liberal left wing pushy pushy kinda guy. I for one would decline the vaccine as I have a mind of my own, not because I'm not "bright"."
Another Covidiot to filter. When I have to watch my colleagues and partner putting their health and lives at risk treating people with this disease, I have very low tolerance threshold for idiots.

"...although I somehow think your supposed conversation with the doctor is fantasy".
I guess I was correct about your type, now sowing the seeds of doubt about my personal character, your type always outs in the end ;-)
Don't bother replying to me, I won't see it, you're just another green box now, with all the other similar n0bs.
RegulatorUK, from what I gather from your political views (Omega aside) you're a very liberal left wing pushy pushy kinda guy. I for one would decline the vaccine as I have a mind of my own, not because I'm not "bright".
Feel free to once again copy and paste my statement with a reply that suits your agenda.
"No flies on me mate, I've met a lot of people throughout my life who have tried similar."
You can't be that bright if you decline a vaccination...
...although I somehow think your supposed conversation with the doctor is fantasy.

Its right there in black and white, your response to my 'most important' was
"No, it won't. Mass testing on its own will not be the way out of the pandemic".
Just a sly tweak on what I said to try to make my original comment seem different. No flies on me mate, I've met a lot of people throughout my life who have tried similar.
The buy is strong in this one ;-)
"Good try, but you changed my words, I said 'most important', not 'only'."
No I didn't. You said:
"Mass testing will be the most important way out of this."
I said:
"If you try to rely primarily on testing, all that will lead to is repeated lockdowns when you find that the testing demonstrates an increase in cases."
Testing is an adjunct to vaccination. Testing doesn't reduce hospitalisation, mortality or morbidity. Testing doesn't reduce or prevent transmission. The simple fact is that there has been no major pandemic or disease that has been brought under control primarily by testing.
The most important way out of this will not be mass testing as you claimed. It will be mass vaccination supported by mass testing.
Anyone who declines vaccination on the misguided belief that this will be managed primarily by testing is a fool.
so you were in no rush to get yours either, such that they had to chase YOU ?, what the hell is wrong with people.
Any trumpers declining should have furlough removed, unless of course there is a valid medical reason to do so, which is a tiny % of the population.
These are likely the same people that didn't wear masks, and thought that as long as everyone else behaved, it would sort itself out.
Mass testing and vaccinations are the only way out, jab everyone and then test anything and everyone that has a symptom....
Testing this year will be massive and after that who knows but I feel its here to stay.

Good try, but you changed my words, I said 'most important', not 'only'.
I find it madness that people would decline a Vaccine that would help get life back to some form of normality, but there you go.
However, I would also suspect that those who decline the Vaccine would probably decline to be tested as well, so I am not sure how much that would help.
"Mass testing will be the most important way out of this."
No, it won't. Mass testing on its own will not be the way out of the pandemic. It's an adjunct to vaccination, which will be the key component for getting out of this.
If you try to rely primarily on testing, all that will lead to is repeated lockdowns when you find that the testing demonstrates an increase in cases.
They sent me a text message the other day to book it which I haven't responded to yet, this was a chase phonecall. I asked what the decline % was, she said "you are the 15th person I have rang this morning, all have declined".
Mass testing will be the most important way out of this.
