my gawd, such amateurish ineptitude, in trying to gloss over the horrible tweet last night, they can't even get the most basic information of the gov contract correct in a tweet. One has to start worrying if this (lack of) attention to detail to the twitter account is representative of the company in general.
I can undestand why everyone is upset at the poor quality tweets. Today's was more alarming as it was incredibly lazy, deliberately misleading or simply written by someone who had no understanding of the science or the product. I presume the tweet on Friday night was an ill-judged attempt at humour.
The share price may fall on Monday in response, but that's really only a concern if you were planning to sell on Monday for a profit, in which case you should have done so on Friday.
However, short term shenanigans like this aside, what is going to determine the share price is producing and selling tests. Once news lands about that - either way - then a few ill considered tweets will be irrelevant.
So, IMHO this will prove to be a storm in a tea cup.
The best news for a long time was the machines actually producing the visitech tests
@Rocquet, at the very least the view of Omega’s investor relations has changed for many
Either way…whether they put the tweet out or waited till Monday to release an RNS someone would of been complaining…I would of been annoyed at the later…but hey ho nothings changed and soon the government will announce the sovereign test and we will be making some serious cash! :)
All they had to say was , “The company notes recent social media content and would like to clarify that nothing has changed with the DHSC contract”, to say what the did about they are worried investors are going to spend money the dont/wont have is verging on SP manipulation.
I would actually like some qualification as to whether it was Walbrook or Omega that had tweeted it
I think we should appreciate that they had the balls to put that tweet out no matter how late it was…it shows that the company doesn’t just want us to run with no substance..
PS - Maybe not right timing but would you rather they’d stayed silent until Monday?
Tbh I don’t know what all this fuss is about…the company WAS NOT OBLIGATED to say anything until Monday morning at the earliest through an RNS due to time constraints on Friday…yes, they made a tweet with a little humour, what company doesn’t these days, at least they didn’t leave us pondering the whole weekend…
Social media is a tool which they are learning to use…of course there’s a few bumps but they are trying…don’t try discredit them just because it’s not something your used to…GLA and hopefully by the of next week we’ll be back to saying choo choo again :)
Wow, up and down like a YOYO with all this tweeting, very unprofessional to say the least from ODX!
I've always thought Colin has a look of Benny Hill about him, and all this relentless tweeting just adds to the farcical look for me.
Since we are all a wee peeved I would like to get this monkey off my back
As much as I like Big Jock and the job he is trying to do for shareholders the company should be communicating direct to all shareholders rather respond to the odd one, alongside the company tweeting #incolinwetrust / ramping up the stock on Twitter just before Directors dump their share options, set patterns in play.
It’s not a good look for us PI investors, the tweet last night advising don’t order a Tesla was the top hat
Agree with that Avastar.
"Okay. Some want to string Colin up."
Er, that would be the shorts on here posting as disappointed long term holders and the gullible fools who swallow with open mouths the fake outrage they are posting today. The rest of don't give a flying fck about yesterday's tweet and are generally massively appreciative of management, hence our investment.
Now stop fretting and get back to your knitting ;)
Clear message from CS is please......shut the f.....up! You're ****ing on my chess board!
I will tell you when you can phone Tesla!
Look fundamentals are going to change very very soon, You don't buy equipment, expand premises, double staff numbers and tweet all this without a plan that is unfolding. There's a strong board of directors here, not just Colin calling the shots and if anything, I see them as trying to be honest with the failed tweets, which is a very good thing in AIM world!
Sure it annoys ppl, cause we all (most) want a rise from the tweet fest. When its done wrong we all get hurt and opens the gates for 'should have done it this way' brigade. He sure ain't no Elon in that regard.
So when the orders come in from whoever in this massive demand orientated period we are in, no one can argue that the fundamentals will change and rerate this share. Alot are here over a year, why would you change your commitment now, just before the prize is delivered?
Wolf:
Turn this off. Don't look at this board for two weeks, and then see what the SP is. Not worth getting ill about it and the comments by the manipulators on this board.
CS is no fool. That's why he's the CEO. He's need to play a game for the long term benefit of ODX. All you need to do is sit back, and trust that ODX know exactly what they are doing.....and why! We at the minute don't, but IMHO all will become clear.....very shortly!
Final thought. One the premise that we have been manufacturing one, or more than one of these tests for months, we ordinarily should have been told about related contracts etc,. But we haven't. He's not employed 250 folks, relying on the gov contract. He must have orders, binding orders, for specific tests. How many has ODX manufactured? Maybe 20M or approacting that by this time. (Complete guess!)
Gov comes along as says okay, we chose this test. Only then does ODX start producting for the gov.
Meantime we have amasted millions of tests ready for the commercial market.
Okay. Some want to string Colin up. But in my opinion, he's playing a blinder. He wants to keep what ODX is doing quiet for now, low profile. Once the gov order comes in, he's free to disclose the other orders.
He needs to keep ODX low profile, and in my opinion, that's why he's slapping us down for now.
Read the runes folks.........and have patience.
IMHO DYOR
Eg: if the UK airline industry used ODX for outgoing passengers only (using 2020 stats)......that order would absorb ODX's capacity to produce. Never mind incoming passengers. And when the floodgates open, 2020 stats will be blown out the water!
We don't want the UK Gov contract peeps......or at best, we want to avoid it as much as we can. IMHO. DYOR.
More machines please!
Has anyone considered the possibility that ODX don't want the gov contract? The margins are likely to be less than achievable commercially.
So if the gov contract comes in at 500K tests per week, we've then got 1.5m capax for the commercial market.
ODX have been manafacturing and stock piling for months. I think that is clear from the staff numbers employed and the video. The big news, will not be the gov contract, it will be commercial sale numbers, which I think ODX will not be able to cope with......need a bigger boat!
Omega should just close their twitter account as a bad lesson now learnt, every time they post it ends up causing more confusion, Take the latest “our planned 2m-per-week capacity”, i thought we were already supposed to have 2M per week capacity, not still planning it, so it just drives the speculation they say they want to suppress.
Close Twitter and release regular, factual updates via RNS that someone proof reads and sanity checks, we will all be in a much better place
BangBang...I know all about sentiment....it’s AIM !!!!
SP might go down short term, before news...we don’t know ...but it won’t for long if the Newsflow which is imminent starts landing for contract information, orders & sales.
Any day is possible hence why we are all here and don’t want to leave the party hence why i can’t see the SP retracing to much....It might go up higher towards the £1 mark in anticipation. There certainly seems to be a growing interest with volume....
Anyway BangBang i will end with a few CAPITAL LETTERS and exclamation marks....
TAKEOUT CURRY AND A FEW BEERS COMING MY WAY ON THIS WET SATURDAY AFTERNOON!!!
Afternoon all
Just looked in blimey there a lot of pi interest here on a Saturday, everyone must want to get in first thing Monday :-)
Bangbangchicken, exactly on the nail.
Eazy i’m glad about that...
and if anything the amount of interest i see on this board both Positive and negative gives me great confidence in where Omega is heading.... We are in an industry with products that are desperately needed.... The UK and Global demand outstrips supply....and we have everything set up ready....
I do think the Tesla comment was a bit daft.
I’m ignoring all the pointless speculation.
I’m confident we are going to make transformational revenue this year with positive news flow starting IMMINENTLY and there’s not a chance i’m letting go of my shares over WHAT? A tweet to say nothings changed, just still waiting on confirmation of test to manufacture but YES we still have a contract with the DHSC to the value of £374m.
News could land any day relating to sales of our VISITECT tests.
TECBADGER..... fundamentals haven’t changed....the company has spent 12 months getting to this point. We are on the CUSP of mass sales of our products to help the UK and the rest of the GLOBE help fight this virus....
YOU WILL BE REWARDED.....AND YOU DESERVE TO BE....HOLD YOUR NERVE
