The FT Article of 8/2/21..
‘The government has been intent on developing a domestic diagnostics industry since early last year when the Covid-19 crisis forced ministers to confront the lack of domestic sources of critical medical resources. In particular, it has sought to reduce its reliance on China for key imported goods as part of what has been dubbed “Project Defend”.
Speaking in front of MPs on Wednesday, Baroness Dido Harding, the head of Test and Trace, said “there is very much an ambition to create a domestic UK manufacturing capacity” for LFDs, tests that provide results in under 30 minutes and have been the subject of fierce criticism.
As part of this drive, the government last year paid the consulting firm PA Consulting £6.2m to find suitable British manufacturers of LFDs, and to help scale up manufacturing.

‘From today, businesses of all sizes can register to order Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) for their staff, @DHSCgovuk has announced.
Workplace #COVID19 testing is now available to *all* businesses in England’
"So far, more than 3,500 businesses have signed up to offer workplace testing programmes, the DHSC said, and more than 14,000 have registered their interest in offering rapid testing."
And from CEO Colin King himself "We are delighted to formalise our relationship with the UK government, and to utilise our lateral flow test production capacity to support the Covid-19 mass testing programme being rolled out across the country".
I don't think there can be any confusion in where Omega's tests will be used.

Tender deadline 7th April....just in time for the Alva HQ expansion..and April scale up to 250+ Headcount..’ODX never over-promise and under deliver’. ...*Big* things are happening GLA

FIingers crossed that Omega are little more successful than beagle 2 was and completes its mission in full.
CK said big things are happening just believe
It’s an £8billion / £8,000,000,000 tender!
How on earth would that go to one or two companies and there still be some doubt in anyone’s mind that ODX could possibly miss out on a piece of the pie!
By the shear size of this tender, we have to have some slice guaranteed. Even 10% between 10 providers is massive...and not factored into the sp. This will re-rate.
Way too much of a risk anyway to award this to one or two companies and too much air freight from China/Innova.
UK companies are now the preference anyway from UKgov.
I have done! l agree re outcome!
Davde - feb 2020, 17p average, believe whatever u decide mate - doesn't affect my outcome here.
If you been in since feb 20 well done bit unsure why it would have been a dog since then! There was never any intention to have a placing again. Maybe feb 21 more likely
Shrewd - I've held this stock since Feb 2020 and i've called it a dog a few times when reviewing the PF, wouldn't lie to you about that, not lately though as I've come to appreciate the moments when when Colin and the team at Walbrook said stuff like;
We will only promote the company when it is right to do so.
Production is at 100k, next up is 500k and it will be 2M by April.
Govt "lent ' them the machinery as they refused to place again to buy more as the £11m placing covered for covid but also for the whole of the HIV and Food allergy LTF programmes, Scottish jokes aside there has been very good Governance on our behalf since the large placing, especially when you consider how littles skin in the game the BOD collectively started out with, with most AIM POS this would have had the confetti machine thrown at it.
My eyes see them under promising and over delivering at each stage, in addition they have stuck to timelines and networked well with Govt agencies and their business partners, I've a few more stocks that could do with this level of progression and be given the Colin King and Walbrook treatment..
jadam... is this another tils ..you know.. where you sold at at 1.20 only for it to hit 3 pounds. "I sold a bit early there I admit".or " ygen is my biggest holding" ...hows that working out for you. please give the god of wisdom my regards .
You just know this is good news when out of nowhere all the trolls and de-rampers suddenly appear.
Great post Coffecups.
JAdam, it is a tender ok so an £8b tender, let us say that ODX get awarded a lowly 10% of the tender and have a P.E. value of zero.
£800m /162 Million shares = £5.00 per share at a P.E. of Zero, is it realistic to think a diagnostics company with other products i.e Hiv into Africa and Food Allergy into China would have a P.E. of zero - of course not but as you seem to be negative on ODX lets really dumb down the numbers.
Let us say you think the Government appointed manufacturing arm isn't going to get 10% you only believe they are worthy of 5% then that is a SP of £2.50 again with a P.E of zero.
Diagnostic Pharmas P.E ratios vary wildly, I use 5 as a benchmark and if it works out well at 5 then I buy ... I have calculated this at zero to see if you had any grounds for the line you are taking ?
ODX is a massive buy at 88p, we all know that, you know that, carry on wriggling lad.
''lol asher, guess what, seems I had a few more left than I thought, watch out for the 9999's instead of the 6666's''..
woah! that'll make a difference, help! Best get back to doing your usual line of work with your other stocks like that ctea. I know you are selling those right now JA, because you're ramping them..exactly the same thing as you were doing here you naughty naughty boy. pmsl!
Tender deadline 7th April....just in time for the Alva HQ expansion..and April scale up to 250+ Headcount...*Big* things are happening GLA
LMAO, the trolls and de-rampers are worried sick. Just read the last half dozen posts.
Hilarious!
Looks like jadam the bed wetter sold his shares way to early pizzer
well Gary, it will all depend on the govt contract won't it? Anything half decent and it will certainly be well north of 90p imv!
8 bloody billion tender! Roll on Monday! We are guaranteed a piece of the £8bn pie to accommodate its size and immediate requirement. Here’s the tender again for the doubters. GLA
